A self-sealing closure device for a container comprising an insert (1) adapted to be secured within a container neck (2) and comprising a pouring opening as well as a cap (11) adpated to be fastened on the container neck (2). The insert (1) comprises an inwardly extending resilient conically shaped sealing means (8), which at its inner end is provided with an upwardly facing sealing face (10) adapted to sealingly cooperate with a downwardly facing sealing face (18) on the cap (11), the sealing engagement of the two sealing faces (10, 18) being released at a predetermined internal overpressure in the container.
Abstract:
An improved process for making a mild, detergent-soap, toilet bar containing a C6 - C18 acyl isethionate as the principal surfactant in combination with minor proportions of C12 - C20 fatty acids, a water soluble soap and water which comprises the step of forming a liquid mixture of said acyl isethionate, fatty acids and soap at a temperature of about 85 DEG C to 105 DEG C in the presence of about 0.5 % to 2.5 % by weight, based upon the bar, of vegetable oil prior to processing said liquid mixture on a chill roll to form particles which are further processed to yield said bar, said liquid mixture having reduced viscosity and being readily pumpable as compared to a liquid mixture prepared in the absence of said vegetable oil. The bar produced by the foregoing process also is part of the invention.
Abstract:
An improvement is described in microemulsion compositions more environmentally friendly, which is especially effective in the removal of oily and greasy soil and having an evidenced grease release effect, contains an anionic detergent, a partially esterfied ethoxylated polyhydric alcohol, a hydrocarbon ingredient, and water which comprises the use of a water-insoluble odoriferous perfume as the essential hydrocarbon ingredient in a proportion sufficient to form a dilute o/w microemulsion composition containing, by weight, 1 % to 20 % of an anionic detergent, 0.1 to 50 % of a cosurfactant, 0.1 to 10.0 % of a grease release agent; 0.1 % to 10 % of an ethoxylated glycerol type compound, 0.4 % to 10 % of perfume and the balance being water.
Abstract:
A cooking fuel device (110) includes a fuel container (112) and a cover (118) attached to the top of the container. The cover includes a central toroidal shaped aperture (48') positioned over the top of the container to define a toroidal burn area for a fuel in the container. An optional wick (116) positioned below the cover is formed from a piled fabric includes a burn portion and a fuel feed portion extending to the fuel in the container.
Abstract:
An oral composition of acceptable taste substantially non-irritating to oral tissue and stable to viscosity change during storage is disclosed wherein the composition contains a surfactant system comprised of a sodium lauryl sulfoacetate surfactant purified to contain less than 18% by weight impurities and a C12-C22 alkyl glycoside.
Abstract:
A hair care composition comprising a hair conditioning proportion of an aluminum salt of a fatty acid having 10 to 40 carbon atoms or a mixture or complex of a water-soluble aluminum salt and a water-soluble or water-dispersible salt of a fatty acid having 10 to 40 carbon atoms. The composition may additionally comprise a co-hair conditioning proportion of a water-insoluble oil, lipid or mixture thereof and/or a hair conditioning proportion of a member selected from the group consisting of a cationic hair conditioning agent, a silicone hair conditioning agent and mixtures thereof, wherein the weight ratio of the aluminum salt to the member is in the range of from about 5:1 to about 0.1:1. Methods of manufacturing hair care compositions and applying the same to the hair are also disclosed.
Abstract:
The stability and softening performance of amidoamine fabric softeners, such as bis(hydrogenated tallow amidoethyl)-2-hydroxyethyl amine is improved by protonating the amine with a neutralizing inorganic or organic acid and incorporating certain stabilizing emulsifiers, such as, N,N',N'-tris(2-hydroxyethyl)-N-tallow-1,3-diaminopropane, dimethylhydrogenated tallow amine, methyl dihydrogenated tallow amine, and oleic imidazoline. Mixtures of bis(hydrogenated tallow amidoethyl)-2-hydroxyethyl amine and bis(tallow amidoethyl)-2-hydroxyethyl amine also provide improved softening and form stable aqueous dispersions. The compositions may be highly concentrated for use at low levels or for further dilution prior to use.
