Abstract:
Disclosed is abase plate 1 for an ostomy collection device, comprising a cover layer 2 whereon an adhesive layer 3 is at least partly disposed. Immediately surrounding a through-going hole 6, the base plate has an inner area wherein the cover layer extends beyond the adhesive layer in a radial direction toward the through-going hole, thereby providing an overlap 7 protecting the adhesive material from contact with stomal output.
Abstract:
A faecal management device suitable for attachment directly to the perianal skin between the buttocks of the wearer. The device utilises an optimised adhesive wafer (1) in order to securely attach the device to the skin of the wearer so that the device is maintained in position for the entire period of wear, including circumstances or periods of wear during which the wearer is active, i.e. not bedridden. In addition the faecal management device of the present invention has the ability for easy application of the device.
Abstract:
A kit for collecting stool, comprising an adapter (1) for connecting the anus or a perianal stoma of a user to a peripheral device, said adapter comprises a flexible adhesive plate (2) having first through going hole, a flexible tube (3) extending from a first opening (11) to a second opening (12) and a first flexible coupling plate (4) having a second through going hole, wherein the flexible tube is attached to the flexible adhesive plate in an area surrounding the first opening and the flexible tube is attached to the first flexible coupling plate in an area encircling the second opening, allowing fluid communication from the first through going hole to the second through going hole through the flexible tube, and a peripheral device (20, 60) for coupling to the adapter.
Abstract:
An ostomy system for receiving bodily waste comprises a drainage bag (200) and a filter (100) comprising an open-cell foam (102) for preventing liquid and solid particles from passing from the drainage bag to its surroundings. The foam defines a passageway for releasing flatus gasses from the drainage bag to its surrounds, and at least a portion of the foam is arranged at a folding line defined by the drainage bag during use thereof. The foam may be a open-cell foam (102) embedded in a closed-cell foam (128) in a filter flange 146. A gas permeable hydrophobic membrane (127) may be provided at an outlet of the open-cell foam (102). The surroundings of the drainage bag (200) may be constituted by the interior of an outer bag.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a disposable inner bag liner (16) for an ostomy appliance, the inner gab liner being (16) adhered to a release liner (2) prior to attachment to an outer receiving member (20). In particular the present invention relates to an alignment means (6) and to gripping means (6) of the release liner (2). Additionally the present invention relates to an ostomy appliance comprising the aforementioned inner bag liner with the gripping means (6) and/or the alignment means. Finally, the invention relates to a method of application of the inner bag liner (16).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an ostomy appliance comprising a receiving member (5) and a disposable bag liner (7), a method for producing a compacted inner bag liner (7), and a method for applying such an ostomy appliance. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a bag being compacted lengthwise while twisting a bottom part in relation to a rim and a method of compacting the same.
