Abstract:
An ostomy system for receiving bodily waste comprises a drainage bag (200) and a filter (100) comprising an open-cell foam (102) for preventing liquid and solid particles from passing from the drainage bag to its surroundings. The foam defines a passageway for releasing flatus gasses from the drainage bag to its surrounds, and at least a portion of the foam is arranged at a folding line defined by the drainage bag during use thereof. The foam may be a open-cell foam (102) embedded in a closed-cell foam (128) in a filter flange 146. A gas permeable hydrophobic membrane (127) may be provided at an outlet of the open-cell foam (102). The surroundings of the drainage bag (200) may be constituted by the interior of an outer bag.
Abstract:
An arrangement for connecting fecal receiving bags together is provided. The arrangement provides for a simple coupling arrangement, which provides fluid communication between the bags while preventing odor and fluid to leak form the coupling. Such a coupling arrangement between two receiving devices or bags is discreet and comfortable to wear as the coupling members follow the extent of the receiving devices. They are furthermore capable of extending parallel to the first and second plane of the receiving devices and thereby reduce the extent to which the coupling members bulge out. A method for connecting fecal receiving bags into a coupling arrangement is also provided.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a disposable inner bag liner for an ostomy appliance, the inner gab liner being adhered to a release liner prior to attachment to an outer receiving member. In particular the present invention relates to an alignment means and to gripping means of the release liner. Additionally the present invention relates to an ostomy appliance comprising the aforementioned inner bag liner with the gripping means and/or the alignment means. Finally, the invention relates to a method of application of the inner bag liner.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a fecal management system for collecting fecal matter from the rectum. The system comprises a first fecal receiving bag (1) and a second fecal receiving bag (20) having an elongated section (21) extending in a flow direction between a second proximal opening (23) and a reservoir section (22), wherein the first fecal receiving bag and the second fecal receiving bag are connectable to each other. This provides a fecal management system that is adaptable to the user; e.g. the first fecal receiving bag can be produced as a compact and portable device, which allows for the user to move around as fecal matter will be collected in the first fecal receiving bag and thereby avoiding any embarrassing accidents; and when the user lies in bed the second fecal receiving bag can be coupled to the first fecal, receiving bag, which allows for additional capacity for collecting e.g. nightly stools.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an ostomy appliance comprising a receiving member and a disposable bag liner, a method for producing a compacted inner bag liner, and a method for applying such an ostomy appliance. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a bag being compacted lengthwise while twisting a bottom part in relation to a rim and a method of compacting the same.
