Abstract: The invention is a process for preventing microbial growth in aqueous streams by applying a C2-C12 percarboxylic acid or mixture of such acids to the aqueous stream and to an automated dispensing system for the percarboxylic acids based on a correlation between oxidation-reduction-potential and anti-microbial levels of the aqueous stream. Generally, the process of the invention is applicable to aqueous streams used in any number of applications such as the application of streams for the transport of food products, e.g. fruits or vegetables, into the processing environment and through the various steps of processing.

Abstract: Described is a method of sanitizing meat product using aqueous streams having an antimicrobial composition added to the stream. Preferably, the antimicrobial composition includes a mixture of one or more carboxylic acids having up to 18 carbon atoms and one or more peroxycarboxylic acids having up to 12 carbon atoms, preferably a mixture of a C2-C4 peroxycarboxylic acid and a C8-C12 peroxycarboxylic acid. Abstract: Method of treating a meat product to reduce a microbial population in the meat sample comprising the steps of: a)Spray treating the meat product at a pressure of at least 50 psi and a temperature of at most 60oC with an antimicrobial composition comprising: i)an antimicrobial amount of at least 2ppm of greater than one mono- or di-peroxycarboxylic acids with up to 12 carbon atoms, preferably peroxyacetic acid and/or peroxyoctanoic acid and/or peroxydecanoic acid; and ii)an antimicrobial amount of at least 20 ppm of greater than one carboxylic acids, preferably acetic and/or lactic acids, with up to 18 carbon atoms; b) reducing the microbial population by at least a three log10 reduction in Escherichia coli counts.

Abstract: The invention is a method of removing soils containing oils and fats from food processing surfaces. The method includes the steps of formulating a wash composition from a two-part concentrate. The concentrate first part includes a source of alkalinity and water. The concentrate second part includes a quaternary ammonium compound. After formulation, the wash composition has a major portion of water, from about 100 ppm to 20,000 ppm of quaternary ammonium compound, and an alkali source present in a concentration to provide a pH of from about 10 to 14. After formulation, the wash composition may be used by applying it to the food processing surface. Optionally, the wash composition may also include a chelating agent and a second nonionic or anionic detersive agent.

Abstract: The invention includes lubricant concentrate and use solution compositions having an amine compound of the formula, R1-O-R2-NH2, R1-O-R2-NH-R3-NH2, and mixtures thereof wherein R1 may be a linear saturated or unsaturated C6-C18 alkyl, R2 is a linear or branched C1-C8 alkyl, and R3 may be a linear or branched C1-C8 alkyl. The concentrate also comprises an acidulant, optionally a stabilizing hydrotrope, and a surfactant. The lubricant use solution resulting from dilution of the concentrate has an amine compound in a concentration ranging from about 10 ppm to 10000 ppm. Also disclosed is a method of lubricating a conveyor system which includes providing a use solution of the lubricant concentrate composition.
