Electrical conductors (Figures 2 and 4) having enhanced properties (such as increased electrical and thermal conductivity and improved surface characteristics for wire bonding and edge connector insertion in an edge connector) are prepared by applying a mixture (101) of a metallic powder and a polymer on a substrate (100), curing the polymer, effecting an augmentative replacement reaction to replace some of the metallic powder with a more noble metal to form a contiguous layer of a conducting metal (102) on the substrate and thereafter electroplating an additional metal layer (103, 104) on the contiguous layer. Principal use is in manufacture of printed circuits.

A novel flame retardant insulation material which can serve as an insulation coating for a variety of flame retardant wire products extending from electronic wire at 5 or more mils thickness to high voltage cable for use at 35 kilovolts or more, as well as in nuclear applications. The novel insulation is made up with a polyolefin base polymer and contains blended flame retardant, trated clay, and silicone fluid with other ingredients. The composition may contain a chemical crosslinking agent such as peroxide or may be crosslinked by high energy radiation.

A ground fault/rating plug (17B) for molded case circuit breakers is inserted within the circuit breaker cover (42) for electrical connection with the circuit breaker electronic trip unit. A rating resistor (51) within the ground fault/rating plug enclosure (45) sets the circuit breaker ampere rating. Rotary switches (49) on the outer surface of the ground fault/rating plug enclosure configures the trip unit for ground fault protection.

Each pole of a multi-pole circuit breaker is equipped to individually separate the circuit breaker contacts within each pole upon overcurrent occurrence. A digital processor within the circuit breaker trip unit determines the occurrence of zero current crossing of phase current within the individual poles and initiates contact separation at zero current values.

Stiffening structure (124) is provided for spreading out loads transferred from the joining struts (118) to one of the forward and aft walls (110 & 114) using structural braces (132) extending diagonally between the joining struts (118) and one of the forward and aft walls (110 & 114).

The invention relates to plastic metal working, more specifically to methods for producing parts of the disk- or shell-type having conical, hemispherical, and also combined parts, such as disk-and-shaft ones. The invention is instrumental in producing large axially symmetric parts from hard-to-work multiphase alloys. The method consists in that the billet is heated in a temperature range above 0.4 m.p. but below the temperature at which a total content of precipitates or an allotropic modification of the matrix of a multiphase alloy is not below 7 %. Then the preheated billet is rolled, while controlling its temperature and the tool load, as well as the rolling speed. Once rolled the billet is heat-treated at a temperature depending on the microstructure of the billet material resulting from rolling. Prerolling preparing of a specified microstructure of the billet material is also described.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for calibrating a digital gamma camera (10) using a hole phantom are described. In one embodiment, the system includes a computer (106) programmed to perform offset adjustments (54) and gain adjustments (56), and then using a source (100) to flood the hole phantom (102), image data of the phantom is collected by the camera (10) to be calibrated. The image data collected from such flood is used to generate a light distribution function (58) for the camera (10). In addition, residual distortions (62) are measured, and a spatial corrections map and an energy deficit map (64) are created. A quality control image (66) also can be generated to verify that the camera (10) is calibrated.
