Abstract: A wireless communication system for transferring management information (WTRU) is provided. A system comprises at least one access point (AP) including a first management entity and a second management entity; and at least one wireless transmit/receive unit WTRU including a third management entity and a fourth management entity. AP transmits WTRU frame message requesting data base MIB information including category field and an action details field. In response to the frame operation WTRU determines whether or not to provide management information to the AP. When the WTRU provides management information to the AP, the WTRU compiles management information stored in a MIB located in the WTRU and transmits a MIB information report action frame to the AP.

Abstract: A base station comprising circuitry configured to use a first hybrid automatic repeat request (ARQ) to provide data blocks for transmission by a second hybrid ARQ; and wherein the circuitry is further configured to determine channel quality of subcarriers in an orthogonal frequency division multiplex (OFDM) frequency set; wherein the circuitry is further configured to transmit the provided data blocks by the second hybrid ARQ; wherein each second hybrid ARQ transmission comprises turbo coded data of at least one of the data blocks and an appended error check sequence (ECS); wherein each second hybrid ARQ transmission is an OFDM signal; wherein the second hybrid ARQ is configured to retransmit using adaptive modulation and coding; wherein the second hybrid ARQ transmissions are sent over subcarriers of the OFDM frequency set and the transmission subcarriers are selected in response to the channel quality of the OFDM frequency set; and wherein the selected subcarriers for at least one second hybrid ARQ transmission are not contiguous subcarriers.

Abstract: Se proporciona un metodo y sistema para conservar energia de puntos de malla (MP) activados por bateria en una red de malla. En una modalidad se proporciona un controlador centralizado en la red de malla. Cada una de la informacion de senal MP asociada con la conservacion de la energia de bateria de MP y proporciona indicaciones de los niveles de energia de bateria asociados con los MP respectivos al controlador centralizado. El controlador centralizado optimiza la configuracion de la red de malla en base en la informacion de senalizacion para conservar la energia de bateria de MP y las indicaciones de nivel de energia de bateria. En una modalidad alternativa, cada uno de los MP monitorea individualmente el trafico que fluye a traves del MP respectivo y un nivel de energia de bateria asociado con el MP respectivo. Cada uno de los MP determina si activa una funcion de ahorro de energia asociada con el MP respectivo y senala informacion asociada con la conservacion de la energia de bateria de MP a los MP vecinos en la red de malla.

Abstract: A method and wireless communication system may be used for transferring management information. An access point (AP) may transmit a management information base (MIB) information request including a category field and an action details field to a wireless transmit/receive (WTRU). In response to receiving the information request, the WTRU may determine whether or not to provide management information to the AP. When the WTRU provides management information to the AP, the WTRU may compile management information stored in a MIB located in the WTRU and transmit a MIB information report to the AP. The MIB may list a plurality of tables containing information associated with radio resource management (RRM) and at least one table containing physical layer measurements. The AP may include a MIB for storing MIB information of the WTRU. The AP may transmit the stored MIB information of the WTRU in response to a request.

Abstract: A subscriber unit implementing physical layer automatic repeat request includes a transmitter 12 and a receiver 16. The transmitter has a physical layer transmitter 12a, an acknowledge receiver 12b for receiving the corresponding acknowledgment and an adaptive modulation and coding controller 12c for collecting retransmission statistics and adjusting the particular data encoding/modulation using the collected statistics. The receiver 16 has a physical layer receiver 16a, and an acknowledg¬ment generator 16c for generating an acknowledg¬ment for each packet if that packet has an acceptable error rate.

Abstract: A physical automatic request repeat system comprises a transmitter and a receiver. A physical layer transmitter, at the transmitter, receives data and formats the received data into packets having a particular encoding/data modulation. The physical layer transmitter contains n channels which transmit the packets and retransmits packets in response to not receiving a corresponding acknowledgment for a given packet. An adaptive modulation and coding controller in the transmitter collects retransmission statistics and adjusts the particular encoding/data modulations using the collected statistics. The receiver has a physical layer n-channel receiver for receiving the packets. The receiver contains an n-channel hybrid ARQ combiner/decoder, which combines packet transmissions, decodes packets and detects packet errors. The receiver contains an acknowledgment transmitter which transmits an acknowledgment for each packet, if that packet has an acceptable error rate. The receiver contains an insequence delivery element, which delivers acceptable packets to higher layers.
