    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the variance of a magnetic field due to the temperature variance by providing a means, which sets the bias voltage of a switching element so that the supply current in a test write area is a prescribed value, and a data input circuit for on/off control based on recording data. CONSTITUTION:Voltages at points A, and A2, namely, values of exciting currents are compared with a reference voltage V2 by comparators 21A and 21B, and difference signals are held in sampling and holding circuits 22A and 22B. Since output voltages of circuits 22A and 22B pass buffer amplifiers 23A and 23B to become the gate electrode potentials of switching elements Q1 and Q2, exciting currents are always kept constant by a bias voltage setting circuit 20A. Consequently, the variance of exciting currents due to the temperature rise of magnetic modulation coils L1 and L2 and the temperature characteristics of elements Q1 and Q2 is corrected in the test write area. The voltage V2 is so set that a prescribed magnetic field is obtained in the case of a dot mark where the code length of recording data is shortest. Thus, the variance of the magnetic field and overheating of magnetic modulation coils are prevented.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable the stable reproducing of data against a level fluctuation of a magneto-optical signal by controlling a reference level in accordance with a level of a common mode signal component to be obtained from an optical pickup. CONSTITUTION:The magneto-optical signal supplied to a data reproducing circuit 22 is delayed by a delay circuit 23 and subtracted from the original magneto-optical signal by an adder 24 to obtain the difference for each clock, and this difference output is sent to a comparator 25 to discriminate its level with a reference level from a reference level deciding circuit 32 as a threshold value, so as to obtain a binarized output. This binarized output is sent to a decoder 26 for performing a demodulation processing and a decoding processing, etc., to carry out the reproducing of a recording information data. This reference level is decided in accordance with a level (b) of the common mode signal component, so that a discriminated reference level is changed at the time of binarization of the data reproducing. By this method, the reproducing of data is stably feasible against fluctuation in level with simple constitution.
