Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tenter clip capable of obtaining a thermoplastic resin film uniform in physical properties along its lateral direction, excellent in thermal dimensional stability and mechanical characteristics and good in flatness with good productivity and a method for producing the thermoplastic resin film. SOLUTION: In a tenter clip, a film 2 is made movable in its longitudinal direction at the gripping parts of the clip and both end parts of the film in the film lateral direction are gripped and a ratio x/L1 (N/mm) of the film restricting force x(N) in the film longitudinal direction to clip gripping width L1 (mm) is 0.5 (N/mm) or less. A thermoplastic resin film is produced by using the tenter clip.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermoplastic resin sheet having improved Young's modulus of elasticity and hot dimensional stability in improved productivity by cooling a molten thermoplastic resin sheet by close adhesion to a cooling drum carrying liquid drops or a liquid film and exerting on the film an action which adds thereto an adhesive force in the direction of the normal of the drum when the film is cooled to a temperature near the melt crystallization initiation temperature of the resin. SOLUTION: A thermoplastic resin such as a polyamide resin having a relative viscosity of 30 meq/kg or above is melt-extruded at a draft ratio of 1 or above in a stream of nitrogen or in a vacuum to obtain a molten thermoplastic resin sheet. This sheet is closely adhered to a cooling drum carrying liquid drops or a liquid film and having a surface temperature of 10-95 deg.C, desirably, 20-80 deg.C and then subjected to a means for exerting an adhesive force in the direction of the normal of the drum when the film is cooled to a temperature near the melt crystallization initiation temperature of the resin to obtain a cast sheet having a thickness of 5 μm to 1 mm. This sheet is heated to 50-210 deg.C, unidirectionally oriented at a draft ratio of 1.1-1.7, and heat-treated.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a biaxially oriented thermoplastic resin film having uniform physical properties in its lateral direction, excellent in heat dimensional stability and also good in flatness with good productivity. SOLUTION: In a method for producing a biaxially oriented thermoplastic resin film, a film is biaxially stretched to be heat-treated and, thereafter, the heat-treated stretched film is cooled in a cooling process comprising at least two or more stages so that the temp. difference between adjacent cooling processes is 5-30 deg.C, the cooling temp. of the first cooling process is (Tg+60) deg.C and a cooling time is 0.5-20 sec and, succeedingly, the cooled film is cooled so that the cooling time from the second cooling process to the final cooling process is 3-80 sec and the temp. of the final cooling process becomes (Tg+10) deg.C or lower.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably and rapidly form a thermoplastic resin sheet with small thickness unevenness of a film by constituting of landing a central part and an end part of the sheet substantially simultaneously on a moving cooling medium. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic resin sheet is substantially simultaneously landed at its central part and an end part on a moving cooling medium. Thus, times of landing a central part and an end part of the molten sheet from a base lip on a cooling drum are substantially simultaneously, and locuses of the sheet are superposed even at the central part and the end part of a film to be seen as one locus. Then, an angle between a tangential line drawn on the medium of a moving direction of the sheet from a lip of the base end for extruding the sheet and a vertical line drawn vertically from the lip to a ground is set to about 75 degrees or less. Thus, the film having good thickness homogeneity can be molded, and stretchability and moldability can be remarkably improved.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the productivity of a biaxially oriented thermoplastic resin film by simultaneously stretching a plurality of films by one stretching machine. SOLUTION: Two or more thermoplastic resin unstretched films are superposed one upon another to be simultaneously guided to a biaxially stretching tenter to be biaxially stretched at the same time and the start stretching speeds of the films are set to 10,000%/min or more in respective directions. By this constitution, even if a plurality of the films are stretched at the same time by one stretching machine, the films can be peeled without being sticked mutually and productivity can be largely enhanced.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the compressive modulus to the direction of the thickness of a biaxially oriented polyester film smaller than that of the conventional film and improve the cushioning properties of the film by a method wherein the compressive modulus of the biaxially oriented polyester film is set below the specified value. SOLUTION: A biaxially oriented film is one, to which at least biaxial molecular orientation is given through its lengthwise and widthwise stretching. As the biaxial stretching system, a simultaneous biaxial stretching system, in which a lengthwise and a widthwise stretchings are carried out simultaneously, is especially favorable. When a linear driving tenter, in which the intervals between clips are adjusted, is employed, after the biaxial stretching, a lengthwise or a widthwise stretching can be carried out and further a relaxing treatment can be performed in a heat treatment process after the biaxial stretching. By setting the compressive modulus of the biaxially stretched polyester film to be 300 mg/μm or less, a more flexible film having the cushioning properties in the direction of the thickness than the normal biaxially stretched film can be obtained.
