    Abstract: A liquid detergent concentrate is provided. The liquid detergent concentrate includes about 1 wt. % to about 40 wt. % combination anionic surfactant component and nonionic surfactant component containing about 0.5 wt. % to about 30 wt. % anionic surfactant and about 0.5 wt. % to about 30 wt. % nonionic surfactant, about 5 wt. % to about 60 wt. % of a water conditioning agent, and about 40 wt. % to about 95 wt. % water. The liquid detergent concentrate can be diluted with water to provide a liquid detergent use solution containing greater than 95 wt. % water. A method for washing textiles is provided.

    Abstract: Both a process and a method of using peracid compositions, especially mixed peracid systems, to treat field or greenhouse grown plant tissue, seeds, fruits, and growing media and containers are disclosed, wherein the method of controlling microbial pathogens on living plant tissue comprises: treating the plant tissue with a dilute aqueous solution comprising at least about 4 parts per million (ppm) of a C2 -C4 peroxycarboxylic acid and at least about 1 part per million (ppm) of an aliphatic C8 -C12 peroxycarboxylic acid. As these peracids can lower the natural, plant pathogen and human pathogenic microbial load they are useful in reducing waste due to molding, spoilage, and destruction because of pathogenic poisons.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a process for the treatment of a plant fluid effluent containing odor compounds including an alkyl mercaptan or an alkyl thiol, an amine compound, ammonia, hydrogen sulfide and mixtures thereof by contacting the plant effluent in either a counter flow or concurrent flow process. In the process, the effluent is contacted with an aqueous solution comprising a peracid compound and optionally an essential oil. When contacted with the peracid, odor compounds in the effluent are oxidized and converted from the gaseous phase into a chemically modified highly aqueous soluble phase in the aqueous treatment. In this way, odor removal from the gas is preferred and odor compounds are efficiently transferred into the aqueous treatment solution. The use of such a process produces a significant improvement in odor quality index as measured by a conventional process using an expert panel when compared to conventional treatment methods.

    Abstract: The present invention refers to a laundry pre-treatment composition capable of treating hydrophobic and organic particulate soils in the laundry item, the composition comprising: (a) an effective soil treating amount of a hydrophilic ethoxylate surfactant composition having an HLB of about 10 to 20, the surfactant comprising the formula R1-(OC2H4)o-(OC3H6)n-OH with an HLB of at least 10, wherein m and n are independently a number of about 0 to about 20, n+o > 4 and R1 is an aromatic or aliphatic, hydrophilic group of 6 to 24 carbon atoms; and (b) an effective soil treating amount of a hydrophobic alcohol ethoxylate composition of the formula: R2-(OC2H4)p-OH with an HLB of less than about 9 wherein R2 is a straight or branched chain fatty alkyl group containing from about 6 to 24 carbon atoms and p is a number of less than about 2; wherein the amounts of ethoxylate surfactant composition and the alcohol ethoxylate composition are selected to obtain an overall HLB value of about 7 - 12 in the composition.
