Abstract: Apparatus and methods for transmitting and discovering timing information during wireless communications are described herein. In an aspect, the systems and methods include monitoring at a user equipment (UE) over an unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band for a discovery signal from a network entity; receiving the discovery signal during a subframe from the network entity; and determining a current subframe location of the network entity based on the discovery signal, wherein the discovery signal includes timing information corresponding to the current subframe location.

Abstract: Various aspects described herein relate to communicating using dynamic uplink and downlink transmission time interval (TTI) switching in a wireless network. A notification can be received from a network entity of switching a configurable TTI from downlink communications to uplink communications. The configurable TTI can be one of a plurality of TTIs in a frame structure that allows dynamic switching of configurable TTIs between downlink and uplink communications within a frame. Additionally, uplink communications can be transmitted to the network entity during the configurable TTI based at least in part on the notification.

In some examples, the data structure may include one or more resource element blocks into which a frequency bandwidth of a downlink channel is divided within a symbol that defines a transmission time interval in a downlink subframe. Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. A first method includes receiving a transmission including a paging group indicator and an indication of a time window. The transmission may be received at a user equipment (UE) over an unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band. The first method may also include monitoring, based on the paging group indicator, the unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band during the time window to receive an asynchronous paging message from a base station. A second method includes transmitting the transmission over the unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band; performing a number of clear channel assessments (CCAs) on the unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band during the time window; and transmitting the paging message over the unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band at a transmission time during the time window. The transmission time may be based on a result of at least one of the CCAs.

Abstract: Techniques for wireless communications over a shared radio frequency spectrum band, may include techniques for transmitting uplink data transmissions using allocated uplink resources. Allocated uplink resources may include an uplink channel comprising a number of allocated interlaces of resource blocks (RBs) for use by a user equipment (UE). An incoming data stream may be processed and data separated into each of the allocated interlaces of RBs for the UE. Such separation may be through demultiplexing the data stream to obtain data for the allocated interlaces of RBs. The demultiplexed data may be mapped onto associated resource elements associated with the allocated interlaces of RBs, and transmitted. Different types of uplink channels, such as a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH), physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) and/or a physical random access channel (PRACH) may be allocated to interlaces of RBs in one or more subframes of a transmitted radio frame.

Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. An eNB determines a CCA parameter for use by a UE in performing a CCA procedure for UL transmission and transmits an indication of the CCA parameter to the UE. The UE receives an indication of the CCA parameter for UL transmission from the eNB and performs the CCA procedure for UL transmission using the indicated CCA parameter. The UE may transmit to the eNB prior to receiving the indication of the CCA parameter. The eNB may use the report in determining the CCA parameter for use by the UE.

Abstract: UE-aided channel selection within unlicensed frequency bands. A base station may communicate with UEs using LTE/LTE-A carrier waveforms (e.g., configured as a secondary cell) in the unlicensed frequency band. The base station may configure UEs for wide-band interference feedback for channels in the unlicensed frequency band. The measurements of wide-band signal strength may be performed by the UEs on channels for which the base station is not currently transmitting, or during silent periods of a configured secondary cell. The UEs may feedback an average total received power over a measurement bandwidth for one or more frequency channels of the unlicensed frequency band. The base station may receive the wide-band signal strength feedback from the UEs and identify potential frequency channels for channel selection for the secondary cell based on its own measurements of the candidate channels, and the wide-band signal strength feedback from the UEs.
