Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate and/or effectuate transmission of circuit switched voice over packet switched networks. The systems and methodologies provide for the receiving a first packet originating from access terminals and/or user equipment, determining within which hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) the first packet is received, ascertaining an amount of delay that is applied to the first packet before the first packet is forwarded into a core circuit switched network; and establishing a periodic time interval within which to convey subsequent packets that originate from the communicating access terminal and/or user equipment.

Los recursos asignados se pueden seleccionar mediante un Nodo B desde un agrupamiento de recursos pre-asignados al Nodo 3 para el enlace ascendente mejorado. El UF puede enviar informaci?n (por ejemplo, informaci?n de planificaci?n y/o su identidad de UF) al Nodo E utilizando los recursos asignados. El UF puede recibir un reconocimiento de giro al UF con base en la identidad del UE. El UF puede permanecer en el estado inactivo y continuar utilizando los recursos asignados hasta que dejen de estar asignados. Alternativamente, el UF puede realizar la transici?n a un estado activo y ya sea seguir utilizando los recursos asignados o recibir una asignaci?n de nuevos recursos para el estado activo.

Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate common data channel resource usage report for receiving additional channel resources in a wireless network. An access point can initially receive a set of channel resources from a network controller for providing wireless network access to one or more devices. The access point can grant and/or deny requests for one or more of the channel resources from a plurality of devices and can feedback information to the network controller regarding the granting/denying. The network controller can determine a load on the access point based at least in part on the feedback information and adjust channel resource allocation based on the load. Thus/ where an access point has granted resources close to capacity to one or more devices, the network controller can provide additional resources to the access point based on received feedback information related to the granted resources.

Abstract: Adaptive De-Jitter Buffer for Voice over IP (VoIP) for packet switched co mmunications. The de-jitter buffer methods and apparatus presented modify th e playback of packets dependent upon whether silence periods are detected in ter-sentence or intra-sentence to optimize voice quality in a communication system. In one example, a de-jitter buffer determines the length of at least one silence period associated with a plurality of received packets and dete rmines a time to transmit a portion of the packets based on the determined l ength of the silence period. In another example, a silence characterizer uni t performs this function.
