    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxially stretched film adapted to be laminated to rubber which is lightweight and has improved moldability and durability, and a laminate for rubber. SOLUTION: The biaxially stretched film to be laminated to rubber is composed of a thermoplastic polymer having a melting point of 150-280 deg.C and the yield stress at 25 deg.C is 150 MPa or less. As the thermoplastic polymer, a polyester is desirably used. The surface orientation coefficient of the film is 0.06-0.145, and the breaking extension of the stretched film at 25 deg.C is preferably 150% or more.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably produce an excellent film free from a pit like surface defect for a long time in such a state that an oligomer present in a polymer is not bonded to the surface of a drum or roll during the production of the film. SOLUTION: A film producing drum or roll having a chromium plating film containing a silicon atom so that a silicon atom/chromium atom ratio becomes 10 or more as a strength ratio of SIMS with respect to a chromium atom provided in the outer peripheral surface thereof is used in a film producing apparatus. Otherise, a film producing drum or roll having a chromium plating film containing a carbon atom so as to become carbon atom > oxygen atom as strength of SIMS with respect to an oxygen atom provided to the outer peripheral surface thereof is used.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the abrasion resistance during film formation and enable the repeated use of the resulting film by compounding a thermoplastic polyester resin with aluminum oxide contg. an element of the group VIII of the periodic table. CONSTITUTION:The compsn. comprises 100 pts.wt. thermoplastic polyester formable into film and 0.01-30 pts.wt. at least one kind of aluminum oxide powder selected from the group consisting of alpha, gamma, delta, and theta polymorphs, contg. 0.0001-5wt.% at least one element of the group VIII of the long-form periodic table, and having a specific surface area of 10m /g or higher and a secondary particle size of 0.01-2.0mum and is produced by adding the aluminum oxide to the reaction system for producing the polyester or by mixing the oxide into the polyester in a molten state. Pellets of the compsn. are dried enough, fed to an extruder to be melted at 260-350 deg.C, extruded into a film, cooled, and solidified to give an unoriented film, which is biaxially oriented and thermally treatred at 150-260 deg.C for 0.1-60sec, giving a biaxially oriented polyester film. At least one layer of the oriented film is laminated to give a laminated film.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition which can give a film having improved abrasion resistance and therefore being desirable for, e.g. a magnetic recording medium by adding aluminum oxide particles to a thermoplastic polyester composition. CONSTITUTION:The title composition is prepared by adding aluminum oxide particles to a thermoplastic polyester (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate). The aluminum oxide particles can be prepared by firing, e.g. bayerite. The specific surface area of the aluminum oxide particle added is desirably 10m /g or above. The amount of addition is desirably about 0.01-10 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. thermoplastic polyester. This composition can be made into a film excellent in abrasion resistance and therefore desirable for, e.g. a magnetic tape.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a polyester compsn. which gives a biaxially oriented film excellent in scratch resistance and travelling properties by adding a specific Al compd. to the reaction system for producing a polyester before the intrinsic viscosity of the resulting polyester reaches a specified value. CONSTITUTION:An aluminum compd. sol. in water or in a glycol (e.g. aluminum acetate) is added to the reaction system of an arom. dicarboxylic acid or its ester-forming deriv. with a glycol before the intrinsic viscosity of the resulting polyester reaches 0.3 thus giving the polyester contg. aluminum-contg. internal particles. The particles have each a structure of formula I [wherein n is 1-5; and R is -OH, -OCH2CH2OH, a group of formula II (wherein m is 1-50), -OM, etc.] and are contained in the polyester pref. in an amt. of 0.1-3wt.%. The Al included in the particle improves the compatibility with the polyester, thus providing a film excellent in surface properties and scratch resistance.
