Abstract:
The inventive shock damping system for vibration sensitive surface mounted devices consists of an elastomeric material having conductive fiber material disposed between a printed circuit board (PCB) and a surface mounted device. Once disposed between PCB and surface mounted device, the elastomeric material, the PCB and the surface mounted device are compressed together with a component restraining system, to provide a secure electrical connection between one or more interconnect pads conductively attached to surface mounted device and the PCB. The elastomeric material allows signals and current to flow between surface mounted device and PCB without the use of any attached wires or leads while at the same time providing a system for damping any shocks or vibrations that may be transferred to surface mounted device through the PCB or through the protective component restraining system that encloses the device and the elastomeric material.

Die elektrische Schaltanordnung umfasst ferner mindestens ein elektrisches Kontaktpaar mitmindestens einem Verbindungsschnittstellen-Kontaktelement und mindestens einem auf der Oberfläche vorgesehenen und an Verbindungsschnittstellen-Kontaktelement angeordneten MID-Kontaktelement. Die Erfindung betrifft ferner eine Kontaktelementgruppe mit mindestens einem elektrisches Kontaktelement zur elektrischen Kontaktierung eines MID-Schaltungsträgers, das auf einer Oberfläche eines MID-Schaltungsträgers ausgebildet, mit diesem elektrisch verbunden ist, und sich von der der Oberfläche weg erstreckt. A method of providing support for an electronic component (17) in an electronic device comprising a PCB (printed circuit board) (14) and a structural element (15) covering at least a part of the PCB (14). The method comprises the steps of mounting the electronic component (17) on the PCB (14), applying an elastically compressible and shock-absorbing material (18) to the structural element (15) at an area (22) thereof that is adapted to cover the component (17), and assembling the PCB (14) and the structural element (15) in such manner that the elastically compressible and shock-absorbing material (18) exerts a pressure on the electronic component (17) towards the PCB (14). An electronic device comprising an elastically compressible and shock-absorbing material between the structural element and the PCB is also disclosed.
