Abstract:
Arrays of low permittivity Polymer-based Resonator Antenna elements with different configurations. Individual array elements can be fabricated with complicated geometries; these elements can be assembled into complicated patterns as a single monolithic fabricated structure using narrow wall connecting structures, which removes the requirement to position and assemble the array elements. Monolithic array structures can be assembled as sub-arrays in larger array structures. Elements, sub-arrays, and arrays can also be formed by inserting dielectric materials into cavities defining their lateral geometries, and fabricated in polymer templates. The polymer templates can be removed or retained to function as part of the antenna. Effective excitation is achieved by one of a number of coupling methods, including standing metal strip feeding on the vertical sides of the elements, feeding by tall metal transmission lines in contact or in close proximity to the vertical sides of the elements, modified microstrip feeding, or aperture feeding by using a slot in the metal plane underneath the elements. The wideband array feeds are realized by optimized transmission line distribution networks which include wideband matching sections.

Abstract:
Compounds having the general structural formula (I) wherein X can be any element or compound that can form a coordination complex with phthalocyanine and wherein R1; R2, R3 and R4 are independently anionic moieties, or (II) wherein R1; R2, R3 and R4 are independently anionic moieties, are useful in the potentiation of antibiotic activity, and/or in inhibiting or delaying the development of resistance to antibiotics. R1; R2, R3 and R4 may be —S03-. The compounds may be administered to a subject in conjunction with an antibiotic. The antibiotic may be an activator of the SOS response, and may be a DNA gyrase inhibitor or a topoisomerase inhibitor. Compositions and dosage forms comprising the compounds are provided.
Abstract:
Antennas suitable for use in compact radio frequency (RF) applications and devices, and methods of fabrication thereof. Described are resonator antennas, for example dielectric resonator antennas fabricated using polymer-based materials, such as those commonly used in lithographic fabrication of integrated circuits and microsystems. Accordingly, lithographic fabrication techniques can be employed in fabrication. The antennas have metal inclusions embedded in the resonator body which can be configured to control electromagnetic field patterns, which serves to enhance the effective permittivity of the resonator body, while creating an anisotropic material with different effective permittivity and polarizations in different orientations.
Abstract:
Prion peptides comprising prion epitopes and fusions thereof, that display enhanced immunogenicity are described. Also described are methods of treating and diagnosing prion disease.
Abstract:
The CAMP factor gene of Streptococcus uberis (S. uberis) is described, as well as the recombinant production of CAMP factor therefrom. Also disclosed are chimeric CAMP factor constructs, including CAMP factor epitopes from more than one bacterial species. The CAMP factors and chimeras including the same can be used in immunogenic compositions for the prevention and treatment of bacterial infections.

The disclosure provides radiolabeled and/or cytotoxin labelled antibodies and methods and uses of these antibodies. In one embodiment, provided is a cytotoxic agent comprising an antibody that specifically binds a target disease cell surface receptor, a cytotoxin, and a radiolabel, wherein the cytotoxin is linked directly or indirectly to the antibody, and wherein the radiolabel comprises a radionuclide and optionally a scaffold, wherein the scaffold is directly or indirectly coupled to the antibody. Also provided are methods of preparing the cytotoxic agent and methods of treating disease using the cytotoxic agent.
Abstract:
An energy exchanger is provided. The exchanger includes a housing having a front and a back. A plurality of panels forming desiccant channels extend from he front to the back of the housing. Air channels are formed between adjacent panels. The air channels are configured to direct an air stream in a direction from the front of the housing to the hack of the housing. A desiccant inlet is provided: in flow communication with the desiccant channels. A desiccant outlet is provided in flow communication with the desiccant channels. The desiccant channels are configured to channel desiccant from the desiccant inlet to the desiccant outlet in at least one of a counter-flow or cross-flow direction with respect to the direction of the air stream.
