The present invention provides a method for forming carbon coating. The method includes a step of heating lithium transition metal complex oxide presented by chemical formula 2, Li_(0.9+a)M_bM′_c N_dO_e, with a compound presented by chemical formula 1-1, C_nH_(2n+2-a)[OH]_a, where n is 1 to 20 and a is 0 or 1, or with a compound presented by chemical formula 1-2, C_nH_(2n), where n is 2 to 6 in an atmosphere of a gas mixture containing carbon oxide. According to the present invention, the compound presented by chemical formula 1-1 or the compound presented by chemical formula 1-2 is methane (CH_4), ethylene, propylene, methanol, ethanol, propanol, or a combination of those. The gas mixture additionally includes water vapor and inert gas selected from nitrogen, helium, argon, and a combination of those.

Provided are a lithium secondary battery including a complex anode active material and a lithium secondary battery using the same. An anode for the lithium secondary battery comprises: a complex anode active material including a metal-based anode active material and a water-soluble polymer coated on the surface of the metal-based anode active material; and a polyimide-based binder. The lithium secondary battery comprising the complex anode active material has excellent initial efficiency and service life characteristics.

The oxide is an electrode active material of a secondary battery.
