PURPOSE: A transceiving method and apparatus for parallely downloading and playing a multimedia file in the unidirectional broadcasting environment are provided to play multimedia data without wait even in the generation of an error on transmitted multimedia data. CONSTITUTION: An electronic file divider(110) divides a multimedia electronic file into a header and payload. A download protocol encapsulation unit(120) encapsulates a header piece file and a payload piece file with a data transfer protocol. A layer channel multiplexer(130) multiplexes a header TS(Transport Stream) with the TS of a high channel protection level. The layer channel multiplexer multiplexes a payload TS with the TS of a low channel protection level.

PURPOSE: A data communication method for near-video-on-demand service in a radio environment is provided to reduce a simultaneous channel access number and a standby time of a user at the same time through using a Fibonacci method and staggered method. CONSTITUTION: A data division unit firstly partitions VOD data(10). The divided data is secondarily partitioned among the primarily divided VOD data in which data division part is primarily divided in Fibonacci method(20). A data transmission unit transmits a secondarily divided data in a Fibonacci method(30).

PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for video encoding/decoding using an adaptive codeword assignment to syntax elements are provided to enhance encoding performance under an image encoding environment having various encoding bit rates and various image sizes. CONSTITUTION: A feature analysis unit(111) analyzes the features of encoding data obtained from an input image, and a codeword assignment unit(112) allocates a codeword to a symbol value of a syntax element when using the input image. An encoding unit(113) encodes the syntax elements in the codeword to generate a bit stream.

PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for coding and decoding multi-object audio signal are provided to perform coding and decoding multi-object audio signal which is composed of various channels providing reverse compatibility about the existing SAC bitstream. CONSTITUTION: An audio object coding unit codes audio-object signals inputted to the coding apparatus based on a spatial cue and creating rendering information for the coded audio-object signals. The rendering information includes spatial cue information for audio-object signals, channel information of the audio-object signals, and identification information of the audio-object signals.

PURPOSE: A method and system for separating a music sound source without using a sound source database are provided to separate a sound source generated using a rhythm musical instrument based on characteristics of the rhythm musical instrument repeated in an aspect of time, and thereby may separate a sound source included in a mixed signal even when a learning database generated using a specific sound source is absent. CONSTITUTION: An NMPCF(Nonnegative Matrix Partial Co-Factorization) analysis unit(130) obtains info nation shared by the plurality of segments in accordance with an NMPCF algorithm. A rhythm instrument signal has frequency characteristics such as a pitch, that may not be easily changed, and may be repeatedly generated, whereby the shared information may correspond to information of a rhythm musical instrument. A target instrument signal separating unit(140) separates a target instrument signal corresponding to a specific sound source from the mixed signal by calculating an inner product between the entity matrices obtained by the NMPCF analysis unit. The target instrument signal is a signal including sounds generated using the rhythm musical instrument. A signal association unit(150) associates the target instrument signals for each of the plurality of segments separated in the target instrument signal separating unit.

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for structuring bitstream for an object-based audio service are provided to reduce a degradation in the sound quality occurring due to an excessive volume control by designating an upper bound value and a lower bound value of a reproduction volume in an object-based audio service. CONSTITUTION: A bitstream splitting unit divides a bitstream into a file header, and an audio object frame through sound source splitting(110). A reproduction level information storage unit stores the reconstruction level information for the regeneration of the audio object within the file header(120). A preset storage unit stores the preset information for the regeneration of the audio object within the file header(130).

PURPOSE: A system for separating musical sound source is provided to efficiently divide a specific sound source in a mixed sound source by reorganizing the mixed sound source into the specific sound source and other sound source. CONSTITUTION: A system for separating musical sound source includes a database(110), a time-frequency domain conversion unit(120), an NMPCF(Nonnegative Matrix Partial Co-Factorization) analysis unit(130), a target instrument signal separating unit(140), and a time domain signal conversion unit(150). The database stores information about a solo performance using a predetermined musical instrument, and transmits the information about the solo performance as a type of a predetermined sound source signal(x1). The predetermined sound source has a significantly great amount of data to include various characteristics of the predetermined sound source. In this case, a great amount of database signals may need to be processed for each sound source separation operation.

PURPOSE: A video encoding device and a method thereof are provided to separate a differential image block into non-border area and a border area base on border line within the differential image block, thereby increasing energy compaction. CONSTITUTION: A signal divider(131) divides a differential image block into the first area and the second area. Through DCT(Discrete Cosine Transform), a converting and encoding unit(133) performs conversion encoding of the first area. A quantization unit(135) quantize output of the conversion encoding unit in a frequency domain. A spatial area quantization unit(137) quantizes the second area in a spatial domain. By using the quantization unit and output of the space area quantization unit, an entropy encoding unit(180) performs entropy encoding.
