In some aspects, a user equipment may determine channel state information for a communication link, wherein the channel state information is based at least in part on a linear combination associated with a plurality of beams of the communication link, wherein a first set of beams used for a first subband, of a plurality of subbands of the communication link, is different than a second set of beams used for a second subband of the plurality of subbands, and wherein the plurality of beams includes the first set of beams and the second set of beams; and transmit the channel state information. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine to decode or refrain from decoding a transport block (TB) transmitted from a base station based on a decodability condition. The decodability condition may include whether an effective UE throughput for decoding the TB is greater than a predetermined decoding throughput threshold or not. If the effective UE throughput is greater than the predetermined decoding throughput threshold, the UE may refrain from decoding the TB. In some cases, the TB may be a subsequent transmission from the base station based on an initial transmission not being correctly decoded, and the UE may refrain from decoding the subsequent transmission.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and devices for communicating based on improved signaling. A base station can transmit an indication of resources in time and frequency to a UE allocated for NOMA communication with the UE. The indication of resources can comprise a set of NA-RUs. The UE can then transmit uplink NOMA communication to the base station based on the indication of resources received from the base station. Also, the base station can transmit a compact UL resource grant via DCI, or signal the semi-static transport format configuration via RRC, to the UEs allocated for NOMA communication. The DCI or the payload of RRC signaling can be scrambled with a NOMA group RNTI, as well as comprise NOMA transmission parameters indicated by a MCS table. The UE can then transmit uplink NOMA communication to the base station based on the DCI or the RRC signaling.

For example, a thin control (208, 212) channel may carry information that enables ongoing transmissions utilizing a first, relatively long transmission time interval (TTI) to be punctured, and during the punctured portion of the long TTI, a transmission utilizing a second, relatively short TTI may be inserted. This puncturing is enabled by virtue of a thin channel structure wherein a control channel can carry scheduling information, grants, etc., informing receiving devices of the puncturing that is occurring or will occur. Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide for the pairing of an inter-band carrier with a time division duplex (TDD) carrier. If the paired band is a frequency division duplex (FDD) band, then base stations and mobile devices may transmit and receive additional thin control channels on FDD carriers to enable full duplex operations. If the paired band is a TDD band, then a conjugate or inverse carrier may be used such that full duplex, or a close approximation thereto, is achieved. With the introduction of a paired channel and fast control channels, rapid uplink/downlink switching may be achieved for TDD carriers efficiently and effectively.
