    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminated polyester film which has a large flexural strength even with the thickness lessened and which is excellent in heat resistance and also excellent preeminently in the form stability in a processing process and in an environment of use for a tape. SOLUTION: The laminated film has a structure of lamination of at least three layers or more, and the surface layer part thereof is a film layer constituted of a thermoplastic resin (A), while the central part comprises at least one film layer or more constituted of a thermoplastic resin (B) different from the thermoplastic resin (A). The glass transition temperature of the thermoplastic resin (A) is higher than that of the thermoplastic resin (B), and a flexural strength index converted into a thickness 5 μm in at least either the longitudinal or width direction of the film is 6 ×10-3-30×10-3 N/m.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin sheet for cards, having a high heat resistance and an excellent meet adhesive property and an embossing property, to provide and cards made of the same. SOLUTION: This resin sheet is composed of a polyester resin as a main component and further comprising a polyimide. The contents of the polyimide are 5 wt.% or more and 40 wt.% or less, and the indexes of planar orientation are 0.0 or more and 0.14 or less. A polyetherimide is preferable as the polyimide.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition that can give a smooth-surfaced molding having a small number of large protrusions and excellent hot dimensional stability, which composition comprises a polyester and a polyether-imide and containing a specified or smaller number of coarse foreign matter particles having a specified or larger size. SOLUTION: This composition contains below 5/0.2 mg of coarse foreign matter particles having a size of 5 μm or larger. More desirably, it contains below 50/0.01 mg foreign matter particles having a size of 0.5-5 μm or has below 100/0.01 mg of foreign matter particles having a size of 0.3-0.5 μm. It is desirable that the composition has a polyether-imide content of 1-95 wt.%. Further, it is desirable that it has an intrinsic viscosity of 0.5-1.5 dl/g, a terminal COOH content of 5-50 eq./t, a terminal amino content of 0.2-20 eq/t, a degree of whiteness of 10-70 (in terms of an L value) as measured in the form of pellets, and a single Tg as observed by DSC. The composition is useful for use in film-related products, packaging materials, electronic-component-related products, building and construction products, and the like.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxially oriented polyester film that has a high strength, dimensional stability and can attain high-density recording in which the deviation of the trucks for the magnetic recording is improved and its production process. SOLUTION: The objective biaxially oriented polyester film comprises mainly a polyester mainly containing the ethylene-terephthalate units and the polyether- imide units, and has the following physical properties: the Young's modulus in the longitudinal direction is >=6.5 GPa in the tensile rate of 50%/min; the thermal shrinkage of 0-0.5% at 100 deg.C in the transverse direction; the residual elongation in the longitudinal direction is 0.05-0.5% under a loading of 32 MPa in the longitudinal direction at 50 deg.C after a time passage of 72 hours and the residual elongation in the transverse direction is in the range of from -0.01 to -0.3%.

SOLUTION: This polyester film has ethylene terephthalate as the major component and a long period of 110-120 Å, a ratio (I 847/I 874) of the peak intensity at 847 cm-1 to that at 874 cm-1 of 0.08-0.15, and a ratio (I 1041/I 874) of the peak intensity at 1041 cm-1 to that at 847 cm-1 of 0.35-0.45 in the infrared spectroscopy.
