Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for dynamic switching between non-codebook based and codebook based uplink transmission schemes. An exemplary method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) generally includes obtaining, from a base station (BS), parameters and a grant of transmission resources for asynchronous non-orthogonal multiple access (A-NOMA) transmissions; obtaining data for transmission to the BS; and transmitting the data in an A-NOMA transmission via the transmission resources according to the parameters while the UE is in a radio resource control (RRC) Inactive mode.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. An example of a method in accordance with the present disclosure may include a UE identifying that the UE is configured to use a contention-based or uncoordinated (e.g., two-step) random access procedure including an uplink message and a downlink response, where the uplink message includes at least a preamble portion and a data portion. The UE may map an identifier of the UE into a block of source symbols, generate a codeword including a block of coded symbols from the block of source symbols, and generate a set of sequences, where each sequence is based at least in part on a value associated with a corresponding coded symbol of the block of coded symbols. The UE may transmit the generated set of sequences in a preamble portion of the uplink message.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to determine a priority indicator for an upcoming transmission between the UE and a base station and transmit the priority indicator to the base station. The base station may receive the priority indicator, determine a network condition, and may transmit control information for a downlink transmission. The control information may include an indication of a set of modulation and coding schemes to select from a plurality of sets of modulation and coding schemes and an index value for an entry in the selected set of modulation and coding scheme, where the indication is based on the priority indicator and a network condition. The UE may identify a combination of a modulation order and a code rate for the downlink transmission based on the indication of modulation and coding scheme table and the index value.

Abstract: Various aspects and features related to wireless communication for unmanned vehicles or inspection routes are described. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, a system, and an apparatus are provided. A method of wireless communication includes identifying a plurality of checkpoints for an inspection route corresponding to a mobile communication device. The method includes identifying a task status for a current checkpoint of the plurality of checkpoints, the task status indicating a status of one or more tasks corresponding to the current checkpoint. The method includes sending a report to a communication device indicating the task status for the current checkpoint.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to methods and an apparatus for transmitting a signal in a multi-layer hybrid resource spread multiple access (RSMA) system. A non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) user equipment (UE) demultiplexes a stream of bits into a plurality of layers, encodes each layer with a different coding rate, modulates each layer of encoded bits with a different modulation scheme, and spreads and scrambles each layer of modulated symbols with a different spreading code and a corresponding different scrambling code. Thereafter, the NOMA UE permutes the plurality of layers having spread and scrambled symbols into a plurality of interleaved layers, scales and phase rotates each interleaved layer with a different scaling factor and a corresponding different phase rotating factor, sums the scaled and phase rotated symbols, maps the summed symbols onto a set of allocated resources, and transmits the mapped symbols via the set of resources.

Abstract: Flexible waveform synthesis is disclosed for new radio (NR) shared spectrum (NR-SS) networks. In order to accommodate variable transmission resources, a transmitter may construct an M x N grid to model a resource element (RE) map of transmission resources available to the transmitter within a shared communication channel, where M corresponds to a number of symbols for a scheduled physical signal and N corresponds to a number of tones of a transmission bandwidth for the transmitter. The transmitter may then map the M x N grid to the RE map and puncture one or more REs associated with the subbands unavailable for transmission in the transmission resources. The transmitter may then transmit a transmission according to the unpunctured REs of the RE map.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may determine, when using resource spread multiple access with non-orthogonal multiple access, that a particular modulation scheme is enabled. The user equipment may process symbols using a set of processing sequences selected based at least in part on the particular modulation scheme such that the particular modulation scheme is preserved for the symbols. The user equipment may transmit the symbols based at least in part on processing the symbols using the set of processing sequences. Numerous other aspects are provided.
