Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain fine SrZrO3 particles having a high dielectric constant and a small and uniform particle size and suitable for use as a dielectric material by reacting the hydrolyzate of a Zr compound with an Sr salt in a strongly alkaline aqueous soln. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous soln. of a Zr compound such as zirconium chloride or zirconium nitrate is made neutral to form ZrO2.xH2O, and filtration and washing are carried out as required. This hydrolyzate is reacted with an Sr salt such as strontium chloride in a strongly alkaline aqueous soln. of >= about 14.45pH in >= about 0.35 molar ratio of Sr/Zr to obtain desired fine SrZrO3 particles. The particles are fine and uniform, so when they are used in the manufacture of a laminated ceramic capacitor, the capacitor can be made small in size and light in weight. At the same time, the capacity of the capacitor is increased, and the high frequency characteristics are improved.

Amorphous particles obtd. by heat treatment at a low temp. can be made smaller in particle size, and when the particles are added to a ferroelectric material such as BaTiO
3 , the diffusion proceeds rapidly and the sintering temp. can be lowered.

6 by a wet synthsis method and dehydrating it by heat treatment.
CONSTITUTION: The hydrolyzate of a tin compound such as tin chloride or a soluble stannate such as sodium stannate is reacted with a water soluble strontium salt such as strontium oxide in an aqueous stron alkali soln. of ≥ about 12.8pH. The reaction temp. is ≥ about 80°C, the reaction time is ≥ about 6min, and the molar ratio of Sr/Sn is about 0.1W16. The resulting SrSn(OH)
6 is dehydrated by heat treatment at ≥ about 450°C to obtain fine SrSnO
3 powder.
