    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable measurement of the ion to be measured in a soln. in which the ion to disturb measurement coexists by bringing the soln. to be measured into contact with the same compsn. as the compsn. in the sensitive part of an ion electrode then bringing the soln. into contact with an ion electrode. CONSTITUTION:The concn. of the chlorine ion in a soln. cannot be measured if iodine ion and bromine ion coexist in the soln. in the case of measuring said chlorine ion. A soln. 2 to be measured is thereupon put into a solid-liquid contact tank 6 and is brought into thorough reaction with silver chloride particles, by which the iodine ion and bromine ion are thoroughly removed from the soln. The soln. is then conducted into a beaker 1 and is brought into contact with a chlorine ion electrode 4 and a reference electrode 5, by which the concn. of the chlorine ion in the soln. 2 is measured.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To positively perform the purification of acidic waste water contg. organic substance, by adding an amount of hydrogen peroxide corresponding to the contained organic substance to the waste water being mixed and agitated with powdery metallic or alloyed iron, and controlling its reaction by a pH meter or timer. CONSTITUTION:Waste water contg. organic substance is let flow into a pH- adjusting tank 1, adjusted therein to pH below 3 by the addition of an acid, fed into a reactor tank 2 where powdery metallic or alloyed iron is previously added, and then reacted by adding H2O2 to the waste water being agitated. The amount of H2O2 is increased or decreased in response to that of the waste water to be treated, but pref. at a ratio below 10/1,500 by the water to be treated. The reaction is performed by controlling the time of agitation with a pH meter or timer. When the reaction is finished, the agitation is stopped to precipitate the powdery metallic or alloyed iron. The resulting supernatant liquid is fed into a pH-adjusting tank 3. In the reactor tank 2, H2O2 is rapidly reacted by using Fe , etc. formed from the powdery iron or the like as a catalyst, and various kinds of organic substance are decomposed into H2O and CO2 in a short time.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make possible accurate and easy measurement of electroconductivity without contact with a measured liquid or solid by arranging semi-electroconductive film along the surface of the same shaped coil and allowing passage of a line of magnetic force only from the coil. CONSTITUTION:Coils 11a, 11b are wound starting with the center of a bobbin 16 as if they were getting remote from each other and the beginnings of the winding are connected together to provide a high-potential terminal 21. While the ends of the winding are connected to each other to provide an earthing terminal 22. Each coil shall be of the same shape. Following this process, a semi-electroconductive film 17 is applied on each coil through an insulative spacer 25. This assembly is housed in a glass casing 26 and the casing 26 is immersed in a liquid to be measured 28 inside a container 27. Then only a line of magnetic force from each coil is allowed into the liquid to be measured 28. In this manner, measurement takes place with the coils 11a, 11b placed out of contact with the liquid to be measured 28.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To measure the biological activity simply and quickly, by contacting both the devices in which one set of the device is coated with biological constituent opaque membrane for the cathode among two sets of constant potential devices and giving a specified potential. CONSTITUTION:The electrodes 2, 3 of the constant potential devices provided in a tank 1 have two electrodes 4, 5, and one electrode of one constant potential device is covered with a membrane 6 of microbe, biological or botanical constituent opaque nature. Leads are connected to a device 7 which gives a given potential (electrolyte) from the respective electrode, and to a recorder 8. The electrode active substance in microbe (bacterium) and fermentation liquid (formic acid, hydrogen and coferment) is in contact with the cathode of the electrode 2 to produce currents and voltages. On the other hand, only the electrode active substance is also in contact with the electrode 3 of the constant potential devices to produce currents and voltages. The difference of currents and voltages of the two constant potential devices is an electric signal relating to the microbe activity, which is used for the measurement of activity of animal/botanical cells.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To facilitate an easy modification as well as to secure a long-time reservation for the calibration checking standard solution of the alkalinity gauge which is used for the clean water process precipitation reservoir or the like by using the sodium carbonate concentrated solution and the weak acid securing the fixed pH in combination. CONSTITUTION:The calibration checking standard solution for the alkalinity gauge is produced by dissolving the sodium carbonate of the calculated amount into the weak acid such as the boric acid containing slution. The calculated amount of the sodium carbonate is set preferably to 5-100-fold of the alkalinity conversion density of the standard solution to be introduced into the alkalinity gauge when the calibration check is given. And the quantity of the weak acid is set to such amount as to secure the pH9.5-6.5 standard solution when the weak acid is diluted for use, and the boric acid is set preferably to 0.2-26g/l respectively.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the stability of a current value when measuring by fitting a vibrating motor which is the force point of vibration, below an electrode fixing member which is a vibrational fulcrum, and positioning a working electrode which is the application point of vibration, and a counter electrode below the vibrating motor. SOLUTION: Test water S is taken into a container, and an electrode body 2 is fitted to a container cover 40 through an electrode fixing member 22. The test water S and electrode body 2 are cut off from the surroundings to stably measure without the influence of flow velocity of the test water S. With the electrode fixing member 22 as a vibrational fulcrum of the electrode body 2, a vibrating motor 20 which is the vibrational force point of the electrode body 2 is set about 10-40 mm below the vibrational fulcrum, and a working electrode 13 which is the application point of vibration of the electrode body 2, and a counter electrode 14 are set about 20-60 mm below the vibrating motor 20. The vibration more than necessary of the working electrode 13 and counter electrode 14 is therefore limited to suppress the increase more than necessary of the current value when measuring the concentration of a measured object component in the test water S. The generation of hunting is therefore suppressed to improve measuring accuracy.
