Provided are a transmission system, a receiving terminal, and a method for controlling XML-based data broadcasting contents through data channels in a T-DMB. In the transmission system, a data broadcasting transfer server transfers the data broadcasting contents, and a control command transfer server generates control command data according to a control action of a service provider with respect to the data broadcasting contents. A multiplexer multiplexes the data broadcasting contents and the control command data and transmits the multiplexed data broadcasting contents and control command data through data channels.

Provided are a method for authoring location based web contents, and an apparatus and method for receiving a location based web data service in a digital mobile terminal. The method for authoring location-based web contents, includes the steps of authoring a voice web document related to a location by using a voice-based web markup language, putting a location information-related tag inside the voice web document, to thereby create a location-related voice web document, authoring a graphic web document related to a location by using a graphic-based web markup language (e.g., HyperText Markup Language), and integrating the location-related voice web document with the graphic web document.

Provided is a digital broadcasting service, more particularly, a method for providing a Web service that can simultaneously input/output speech data along with visual data by integrating speech Web data with broadcasting Web sites (BWS) provided for a multimedia broadcasting in a digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) system configured based on a digital audio broadcasting (DAB), and an apparatus thereof . The method for synchronizing visual data with speech data includes the steps of : a) generating a visual Web document; b) generating a speech Web document including synchronization tags related to the visual Web document; and c) identifying the speech Web document and the visual Web document based on a sub-channel or a directory and transmitting the speech Web document and the visual Web document independently.

Provided are an apparatus and method for predictive coding/decoding for improving a compression rate of multiview video using one or two additional reference frame buffers. The predictive encoding apparatus includes: a multiview reference picture providing unit for providing a reference picture for a predictive encoding according to temporal and spatial GOP structure information; a prediction unit for creating a vector by predicting which part of the reference picture inputted from the multiview reference picture providing unit is referred by a picture to currently encode; a transforming and quantizing unit for obtaining a difference signal between the predicted signal inputted from the prediction unit and a picture signal to currently encode, transforming the obtained difference signal, quantizing the transformed signal, and compressing the quantized signal; and an entropy encoding unit for encoding the quantized signal and the vectors according to a predetermined scheme and outputting the encoded signal.

Disclosed is a system for transmitting encrypted broadcast signals to different transmitters on a single frequency network (SFN) in a digital broadcasting system. The system for transmitting encrypted broadcast signals on the SFN includes: a main broadcasting system for transmitting encrypted broadcast signals including data streams and transmitter identification information (TII) through a main broadcasting network; a repeating system for amplifying encrypted broadcast signals of the main broadcasting network and transmitting the amplified broadcast signals, or modulating and amplifying streams input by the main broadcasting system through a private line and repeating broadcast signals of the main broadcasting system through a repeating network; and a decrypting key provider for receiving a decrypting key value from the main broadcasting or repeating system and transmitting a user authentication and decrypting key to a charged subscriber terminal through a mobile communication network.

Provided is a DMB/mobile telecommunication integrated service terminal and a method for connecting a DMB network and a mobile telecommunication network, which can provide a DMB broadcasting service in a mobile environment and a two-way data service through a mobile telecommunication network simultaneously by integrating a mobile telecommunication terminal and a mobile DMB receiving terminal and physically/logically connecting them into one entity. The DMB/mobile telecommunication integrated service terminal for connecting a network between DMB and a mobile telecommunication includes a DMB broadcasting processing block for extracting video/audio and synchronized data, transmitting the video/audio to corresponding application program for restoration, and transmitting the DMB data to a DMB/mobile telecommunication network connecting block, but generating network linkage data by integrating mobile data with the DMB data in case that the mobile data are transmitted from a mobile telecommunication accessing block; a DMB/mobile telecommunication network connecting block for controlling the DMB broadcasting processing block, an application program or a mobile telecommunication accessing block to receive a DMB broadcasting or provide a mobile telecommunication service, requesting additional mobile data to a return channel server through the mobile telecommunication accessing block upon a user request during DMB broadcasting reception, and processing the network linkage data generated in the DMB broadcasting processing block; and the mobile telecommunication accessing block for performing a mobile telecommunication network accessing process receiving the mobile data from the return channel server, and transmitting the mobile data to the DMB broadcasting processing block or the DMB/mobile telecommunication network connecting block under control of the DMB/mobile telecommunication network connecting block. Provided is a five sensory data synchronizing and transmitting apparatus and method, and an actual-feeling multimedia data providing system and method using the same. The five sensory data synchronizing and transmitting apparatus and method forms packets by describing vibration, and odor and a taste expressed in video/audio based on touch, odor and taste data descriptors and synchronizes the touch/odor/taste packets with video/audio packets on a frame basis; and then, the actual-feeling multimedia data providing system and method demultiplexes the received packets transmitted from the five sensory data synchronizing and transmitting apparatus into video data, audio data, touch data, odor data and taste data and transmits them to corresponding devices to thereby provide a user with an actual-feeling multimedia service.

Disclosed are a method for controlling a bit rate in a digital audio broadcasting (DAB) system, an apparatus and a method for converting a media stream by using the same. The media stream conversion method includes the steps of: determining a data amount of an inputted moving picture transmission stream and calculating a stream length (STL) value; calculating a data amount to be outer coded for every interval of DAB transmission frames based on the STL vale; outer coding a data with a multiple size of a packet unit for every interval of the DAB transmission frames as maintaining the data amount according to the STL value on average; and reading the outer coded moving picture transmission stream as much as the data amount according to the STL value for every interval of the DAB transmission frames to configure the DAB transmission frames and outputting the moving picture transmission stream.

Provided are a data broadcast receiving apparatus that can be easily connected with mobile communication terminals of diverse access specifications by easily upgrading middleware or plug-in software in digital broadcast mobile and fixed receiving environments, and a method thereof. The data broadcast receiving apparatus includes a demultiplexer for separating signals transmitted from the outside into signals of a kind; a controller for controlling elements of the data broadcast receiving apparatus, receiving and outputting contents separated in the demultiplexer; a download processor for receiving downloadable data divided in the demultiplexer, determining the kind of the downloadable data, and performing upgrade by downloading the downloadable data; and a mobile terminal accessing unit for accessing to a mobile communication network based on the downloadable data.

Provided are a digital radio broadcast transmitting/receiving system for providing a download service of data files related to broadcast contents, the method thereof, and a computer-readable recording medium for recording a program that implements the method. The system and method provide broadcast contents by, on the transmitting part, making the data files of the broadcast contents have the same title as the broadcast content, segmenting the data files, allocating the segments dynamically, and transmitting them to data broadcast stream; and, on the receiving part, extracting only the segments for the data files having the same title as a content selected by a user, restoring and storing the data files. The broadcast transmitting system includes a broadcast program data and content file collecting unit, a content stream generating unit, a broadcast program data encoding unit, a carousel broadcast scheduling unit, a data encoding unit, a multiplexing unit, and a digital radio transmitting unit.
