Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices, and systems for physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) repetition based on support signaling, such as an uplink grant that includes a time domain resource assignment for transmitting one or more data repetitions that may cross a slot boundary. The UE may identify directions (for example, uplink, downlink, flexible) for one or more symbols spanning a transmission duration of the time domain resource assignment. The directions may be determined using a dynamic slot format indication (SFI), or semi-static SFIs may be used as a fallback (when dynamic slot format indications do not meet a target reliability). The uplink grant may include an indication of which symbol directions can be used for the one or more data repetitions. A subset of the one or more symbols for scheduling the one or more data repetitions may be determined based on the identified directions.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may use easily detectable transmission parameters to infer difficult-to-detect parameters for communications with a base station. For example, the base station may provide the UE with multiple sets of transmission parameters, and the UE 115 may choose from among these sets of transmission parameters for the communications. In some cases, the UE may be configured with a reference set of transmission parameters, receive one or more transmission parameters that are different relative to the reference set of transmission parameters, and then determine to use the different transmission parameters for the communications. Additionally or alternatively, the multiple sets of transmission parameters may be specified for a certain uplink message (e.g., random access channel messages), where the UE selects the transmission parameter set based on one or more characteristics of the uplink message.

A user equipment (UE) or base station may be capable of operating using two or more timing configurations that each include an associated time period between receipt of a downlink communication (e.g., a grant of uplink resources or shared channel data) and a responsive uplink communication (e.g., an uplink transmission using the granted uplink resources or feedback of successful reception of the shared channel data). In cases where a UE or base station are capable of two or more timing configurations, a timing configuration for a transmission may be determined and the responsive uplink communication transmitted according to the determined timing configuration.

According to certain aspects, a UE may calculate a transmit power for an aperiodic channel state information (A-CSI) report that is independent of an actual number of channel quality indicator (CQI) and precoding matrix indicator (PMI) bits to transmit in the A-CSI report. The UE may then transmit the A-CSI report in accordance with the calculated transmit power.

In some wireless communications systems, devices may implement transmission repetitions for transport blocks (TBs) to improve reception reliability. However, to support low latency, TBs may be transmitted in any transmission time interval (TTI) within a subframe. The systems may implement process to handle these TB repetitions. In some cases, a device may receive, during a TTI of a subframe, control information including an indication of transmission repetitions of a TB for a plurality of TTIs, identify a quantity of transmission repetitions of the TB based on the control information, and monitor for the transmission repetitions of the TB.
