Abstract: PURPOSE:To make a thermoplastic film stable for a long time and enable uniform heating even at a high temperature, by interposing steam into an interface between the thermoplastic film and a roll. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic film and roll are heated for a temperature rise by interposing steam between them. Hereupon, ceramics is excellent as the quality of the material of a heating roll. Furthermore, it is needless to say that the steam or water may be stuck onto the thermoplastic film besides a method to stick the water to the roll as an interposing method of the steam. In either case, it is good to constitute the title method so that the steam is interposed into an interface where the thermoplastic film and roll come into contact with each other. Although composition of the steam is water, a surface active agent may be added to the steam at need, however, a matter having volatility or subliming properties is good as the surface active agent.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance close adhesive strength under a high humidity condition at the time of the vapor deposition of a metal by a method wherein a polyester layer having an m.p. lower than that of a polyolefin-containing polyester layer is laminated to the single surface of the polyolefin-containing polyester layer and both layers is heat-treated at temp. between both melting points to be brought to specific density. CONSTITUTION:To at least the single surface of an oriented layer composed of polyester A containing 0.1-10wt.% of polyolefin, a layer composed of polyester B having an m.p. lower than that of polyester A is laminated in thickness of 0.01-1mum and the obtained laminate is heat-treated at temp. between the m.p. of polyester B and that of polyester A to be brought to density of 1.25g/cm or more. Herein, polyester A is polyethylene terephthalate and has intrinsic viscosity(IV) of 0.7dl/g or more and polyolefin is at least one resin selected from polyethylene, polypropylene, polybutene and a copolymer thereof. A metal vapor deposition layer and/or a metal oxide vapor deposition layer are formed on the layer composed of at least one polyester B.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve moisture resistance and adhesion at the time of the coating of a coating agent, etc., by bringing the rate of change of surface roughness (Ra) before and after dipping in a solvent in at least one surface to 10-300%. CONSTITUTION:The rate of change of surface roughness (Ra) before and after dipping in a solvent in at least one surface is made 10-300%. Adhesion and moisture resistance are deteriorated when the rate of change of the surface roughness is too low, and adhesion is lowered, gloss at the time of printing is reduced and appearance is often damaged when the rate of the change is too high. Alcohols such as methyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol, etc., ketones such as acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, etc., halogens such as trichloroethane, fluorocarbon etc,, petroleums, aromatic groups such as benzene, toluene, etc., esters such as ethyl acetate, etc., are exampled as a solvent. Accordingly, a polyester film, which has excellent adhesive properties with printing ink or a coating agent and adhesion of which is not lowered even under high humidity particularly, is acquired.

CONSTITUTION:A diacylated product of an arom. dihydroxyl compd., a monomer having an -SO3M group of formula I (M is an alkali metal) such as monosodium salt of 5-sulfoisophthalic acid, and an arom. dicarboxylic acid are polycondensed by removing acetic acid to give a modified, optically anisotropic polyester which comprises structural units selected from the group consisting of structural units of formulas II to VI (wherein R1 is formula VIII or IX; R2 is formula VII or VIII; X is H or Cl), wherein the ratio of formula II to (formulas II+III+ IV) is 20-90mol%; the ratio of formula VI to (formulas V+VI) is 1-100mol%; and (formula V+VI) and (formula III+IV) are subtantially equimolar to each other.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable a polyester composite film being excellent in the adhesion with inks and a metallic vaporized layer to be obtained by containing 0.1-10wt.% synthetic resin having a polar group in a copolymer polyester film. CONSTITUTION:A copolymer polyester film is made to contain 0.1-10wt.% synthetic resin having a polar group. And, the copolymer polyester is of a type in which polyester is copolymerized with copolymer ingredient of 10mol% or more, preferably, a type in which crystal melting heat is 2-6cal/g. In particular, it is preferred to be polyethyleneterephthalate copolymerized with isophthalic acid, dimer acid, or the like. Thus, the adhesion of printing inks, a vaporized metallic layer or the like, in particular, hot water resistance is improved, therefore, the characteristics suitable for package can be obtained thereby.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance the adhesive strength with a metal and to adapt the title film to various uses for boil, retorting or the like by laminating a low crystalline polyester film to at least the single surface of a crystalline polyester film in a specific thickness. CONSTITUTION:A low crystalline polyester film is laminated to at least the single surface of a crystalline polyester film in a thickness of 0.001-0.1mum. Polyester is a general term of a polymer containing an ester group obtained by the polycondensation of a dicarboxylic acid component and a diol component and, as dicarboxylic acid, there are terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid or the like and, as diol, there are ethylene glycol, 1,4-butane diol or the like. By this method, the adhesive strength of a metal vapor deposition layer becomes strong and the appearance beauty of metal vapor deposition is not damaged and this film can be also used for boil.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent flatness from being deteriorated by closely sticking a molten body of polyamide which has been obtained by adding a high molecular electrolyte or its salt to polyamide resin on the surface of a cooling body with a liquid film interposed thereon while impressing electrostatic charge. CONSTITUTION:An ionic high molecular electrolyte, e.g. the high molecular electrolyte consisting of partially neutralized zinc salt of ethylene/acrylic acid is added at 0.5-45wt.% to polyamide, for example nylon 6. This obtained composition is supplied to an extruder. A mixing and molding type polyamide film is obtained by a casting method wherein a liquid film is interposed on the surface of a cooling body as the essential conditions in the case of closely sticking the above-mentioned composition on the surface of the cooling body while impressing electrostatic charge. As a method for interposing the liquid film such as water on the surface of the cooling body, such a dewing method is preferably utilized that the air contg. moisture is blown on the surface of the cooling body held at dew point or below and dewed. Polyamide having the concn. of a terminal amine group less than 30g-meq/kg is utilized. The humidity expansion coefficient of the polyamide film is desirably regulated to 10 mm/mm/%RH or below.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a receiving sheet for printing excellent in adhesive properties, printability, water resistance and solvent resistance by applying a coating layer mainly comprising a nonaqueous group polyester copolymer manufactured by grafting a compound having an unsaturated bond containing alkoxysilane or a glycidyl group onto a polyester film. CONSTITUTION:In a receiving sheet for printing, a coating layer mainly comprising a nonaqueous group polyester copolymer acquired by grafting a compound having an unsaturated bond including alkoxysilane or a glycidyl group is applied onto at least one surface of a polyester film. When the sheet is used as the receiving sheet for printing, it is favorable that a white masking pigment is contained in the coating layer when trouble is generated in the resolution and visibility of printing, the confirmation of the place of printing, etc. in a transparent sheet such as when a bar code is printed. 0.05-3.0mum are preferable as the mean grain size of the white masking pigment, while 0.1-70wt.% are favorable as adding value.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To get rid of occurrence of marks and nonuniformity of quality and to improve producibility, luster and heat-resistant dimensional stability by adding inorg. particles with a specified mean particle diameter coated with a polyolefin resin in a polyester and making it into a film. CONSTITUTION:An inorg. particle comprising a compd. of an element selected from among those of groups IIa, IIb, IIIb, IVa, IVb, Vb, VIa and VIIa of the periodical table with a mean particle diameter of 0.2-10mum, pref. 0.3-7mum (e.g. BaSO4) is coated with 0.5-50wt.% polyolefin resin (e.g. PP). A polyester (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate) is mixed with 3-50wt.%, pref. 5-40wt.% resin-coated inorg. particles and the mixture is made into a film at about 285 deg.C. The film is cooled at about 20 deg.C and solidified. The film is then drawn 2.5 to 7-fold in the longitudinal direction at 75-120 deg.C, 2.5 to 5-fold in the transverse direction at 80-110 deg.C and then heat-treated at 160-230 deg.C to obtain a biaxially oriented title film.
