    Abstract: PURPOSE:To simultaneously measure the energy of the laser beam converted by a wavelength converting element and that of laser beam not converted by said element, by separating the laser beam having two wavelengths passing through the wavelength converting element into two directions using a dichroic mirror. CONSTITUTION:When laser beam having a certain wavelength is incident on a wavelength converting element 1, laser beam converted in its wavelength and the incident laser beam are together emitted. These laser beams having two wavelengths are simultaneously condensed by a condensing lens 2 and allowed to be incident on a dichroic mirror 4 while the intensities thereof are weakened by an optical filter 3. Since the dichroic mirror 4 reflects only laser beam having a certain wavelength and transmits laser beam having other wavelength, the energy of the laser beam converted by the wavelength converting element 1 and that of the laser beam not converted by said element 1 can be simultaneously measured by energy measuring sensors 5, 6 each using a biplanar photoelectric tube measuring the energies of respective wavelengths.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily perform extinction necessary for span calibration, by providing a polarizer on the light path between a flow cell part and a light receiving part so as to be rotatable around an optical axis and respectively providing analysers for detecting polarized light formed by the polarizer on two light paths between a half mirror and both wavelength selection filters in a rotatable manner. CONSTITUTION:A polarizer 16 is provided on the light path between a flow cell part 3 and a light receiving part 2 so as to be rotatable around an optical axis and analysers 17, 18 for detecting polarized light formed by the polarizer 16 are respectively provided to two light paths between a half mirror 6 and both wavelength selection filters 7, 8 so as to be rotatable around the optical axis. Wavelengths received by light receivers 9, 10 are respectively set to lambda1, lambda2 and, in performing span calibration, the polarizer 16 is rotated or one analyser 17 is rotated to select the light polarizing azimuths of the polarizer 16 and the analyser 17 and quantity of light with the wavelength lambda2 is selected to desired quantity of light. Next, the polarizer 16 or the other analyser 18 is rotated and quantity of light with a wavelength lambda2 is selected to desired quantity of light in the same way. By this method, extinction at wavelengths lambda1, lambda2 is performed.
