    Abstract: The device has a disc holder stacking unit (4) for at least two holders (8-12), each for one or more discs, coupled to at least one threaded spindle (5-7) for vertical transportation by rotating the spindle. The stacking unit has upper and lower holder stacking regions. The discs can be read from or written to in a play position. A loading position is arranged in a central region between the upper and lower stacking regions. The holders can be rotated into the loading position and a transport arrangement can carry the disc from the holder in the loading position into the play position and into an ejection position in which the disc can be removed from the device. The play positron is arranged between the loading and ejection positions.
