본 명세서는 무선 통신 시스템에서 FTN(Faster Than Nyquist) 펄스(pulse) 성형을 이용한 신호 전송 장치의 신호 송신 방법 및 장치에 관한 것이다. 이러한 본 명세서는 전송하고자 하는 비트 스트림(bit stream)을 변조하는 단계, 상기 FTN 펄스 성형을 위한 파라미터를 결정하는 단계, 상기 파라미터를 기반으로 상기 FTN 펄스를 생성하는 단계 및 상기 생성된 FTN 펄스를 신호 수신 장치로 전송하는 단계를 포함하되, 상기 파라미터는 상기 신호 수신 장치의 채널 수신 상태를 기반으로 결정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 신호 송신 방법을 제공한다.
Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for correcting fading distortion and a hierarchy modulated broadcast receiver having the same are provided. The hierarchy modulated broadcast receiver includes an OFDM demodulator for receiving a hierarchy modulated broadcast signal; and a fading distortion correction unit for correcting fading distortion of an output signal using an estimation result of fading distortion size from the output signal of the OFDM demodulator.

The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for providing emergency information and supplementary information. A terminal for providing emergency information and supplementary information includes an EWAS processor to receive an EWAS signal, to determine whether an EWC is included in the EWAS signal, and to decode the EWC for acquiring the emergency information and the supplementary information; a region based service unit to decode the emergency information and the supplementary information to acquire service information including at least one service item, and to express an item label, an item description, broadcasting link information, and communications link information on the service item; and a terminal base function unit accessing a Wi-Fi network or a mobile communications network to perform communications or accessing a T-DMB network to receive broadcasting according to selection of a user, and to control web browsing environment for acquiring additional information through Internet access provided from the mobile communications network or Wi-Fi network. An automatic recognition service and a region based service are used to the highest degree as an advantage of an automatic recognition emergency broadcasting service and a low data transmission rate may be compensated.

The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for receiving a service in a broadcast-communication convergence network. The present specification discloses a method for receiving a service in a broadcast-communication convergence network. The method comprises the steps of: allowing a terrestrial DMB receiving unit to monitor reception quality; requesting a stream through a communication network and receiving the stream through two receiving units, when the reception quality is less than a first reception quality threshold; operating a timer to deal with a temporary reception deterioration state; and switching into the communication network and reproducing content, when the reception quality is less than a second reception quality threshold. According to the configuration of the present invention, a DMB receiving terminal can provide a seamless service even in a DMB broadcast dead zone by tracking reception quality of signals received through a broadcast network and providing a content handover method in accordance with the change of the reception quality.

The present invention relates to a broadcasting transmission apparatus. Disclosed in the present specification is the broadcasting transmission apparatus which comprises an ATSC signal generation unit to transmit an ATSC signal in accordance with ATSC transmission standards; a low-speed data signal generation unit which has the same frequency range as that of the ATSC signal, and transmits at least one narrow-band signal located in a null frequency domain of an NTSC removal filter; a coupling unit to couple the ATSC signal to the at least one narrow-band signal; and an RF transmission unit to transmit the signal, coupled by the coupling unit, as an RF signal.
