Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display pixel structure made of a readily manufacturable electron emission light-emitting element that has superior effect of light emission. SOLUTION: The display pixel structure includes a first substrate and a second substrate. Several cathode structure layers are disposed on the first substrate. The second substrate is made of a light-transmissive material. Several anode structure layers are disposed on the second substrate and are made of light-transmissive conductive material. The first substrate faces the second substrate, so that the cathode structure layers are respectively aligned with the anode structure layers. A separation structure is disposed in between the first substrate and the second substrate, thereby causing the anode structure layers and the cathode structure layers to be partitioned, respectively, to form several spaces. Several fluorescent layers are respectively disposed in between the anode structure layers and the cathode structure layers. A low-pressure gas is respectively filled in the plural spaces. The low-pressure gas has an electron mean free path that allows at least an ample amount of electrons to directly impinge the fluorescent layer under the operating voltage. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source for easily generating field concentration of electric field, increasing electron emitting spots, achieving a high output and high efficiency in electron emission and for driving at a low voltage. SOLUTION: A light source 10D has a rear glass substrate 200 and a front glass substrate 202, having a plate surface disposed facing the principal surface of the rear glass substrate 200. The plate surface of the front glass substrate 202 is coated with a phosphor. A two-dimensional array of a plurality of electron emitters 12B is disposed on the principal surface of the rear glass substrate 200. A space 230 defined between the rear glass substrate 200 and the front glass substrate 202 is filled with a gas 232. As the gas 232, for example, Hg (mercury) gas or an Xe (xenon) gas may be used. Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable a relatively long lamp to emit light homogeneously by causing the direction of an electron flux passing through the anode to coincide with the longitudinal direction of the tube. CONSTITUTION:A light-emitting electron tube consists of a light-transmitting cylindrical tube 3 which is charged with a light-emitting gas at low pressure, a thermion-radiating cathode 1 which is installed in one end of the tube 3 and a meshy anode 2 which is installed at a distance shorter than the average free path of electrons from the cathode 1. In this electron tube, a magnetic field generator which produces a magnetic field parallel to the tube axis is installed between the cathode 1 and the anode 2. Consequently, uniform emission is produced over the entire tube, thereby enabling a relatively long lamp to emit light homogeneously.
