Abstract: The invention relates to a method for obtaining hexamethylene diamine (I) fr om a mixture (II) containing (I) hexamethylene diamine, (III) hexamethylenimine, (IV) a compound selected from the group consisting of 2-aminomethyl cyclopentylamine and 1,2-diaminocyclohexane, (V) an imine, and (VI) adipodinitrile and 6- aminocaproic acid nitrile. According to said method, (a) a mixture (II) is subjected to distillation, yielding (a1) a low-boiling fraction whic h essentially contains (III), (a2) a medium-boiling fraction (VII) containing (I), (IV) and (V), and (a3) a high-boiling fraction containing (V ) and (VI); (b) a mixture (VII) is subjected to distillation, yielding (b1) an overhead which essentially contains (IV) and (b2) a mixture (VIII) containing (I) and (V) as bottom residue; and (c) a mixture (VIII) is subjected to distillation, yielding (c1) (I) as overhead and (c2) a bottom residue which contains the essential part of (V).

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for preparing compounds containing NHi2 groups by hydrogenating compounds having at least one unsaturated carbon-nitrogen bond with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst at temperatures being higher thane room temperature and an elevated hydrogen partial pressure in the presence or absence of a solvent, which preparation process comprises (a) using a catalyst comprising a cobalt- and/or iron catalyst, (b) interrupting the hydrogenation when the hydrogenated compound transformation degree and/or selectivity of the required product drops below a defined limit or when the amount of undesired byproducts increases above a defined limit by stopping the feed of the compound to be hydrogenated, (c) treating the catalyst at a temperature ranging from 150 to 400 degC with hydrogen using a hydrogen pressure within the range from 0.1 to 30 MPa and a treatment time within the range from 2 to 48 hours, and (d) subsequently continuing the hydrogenation of the compound having at least one unsaturated carbon-nitrogen bond as well as the regeneration of cobalt- and/or iron-containing catalysts.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for simultaneous production of 6-aminocapronitrile and hexamethylenediamine from adipodinitrile, comprising the following steps: a) hydrogenating adipodinitrile in the presence of a catalyst containing an element of the VIII subgroup thereby obtaining a mixture containing 6-aminocapronitrile, hexamethylenediamine, adipodinitrile and high boilers; b) distillative separation of hexamethylenediamine from the mixture containing 6-aminocapronitrile, hexamethylenediamine, adipodinitrile and high boilers or c1) distillative separating 6-aminocapronitrile and subsequently d1) distillative separation of adipodinitrile or c2) simultaneous distillative separation of 6-aminocapronitrile and adipodinitrile into separate fractions. The invention is characterized in that temperatures in the bottoms of the column in steps d1) or c2) are under 185 DEG C. The adipodinitrile thus obtained contains less impurities than for instance 1-amino-2-cyanocyclopentenes.
