A grease composition for use as a cable filling material which contains about 75 to 95 parts by weight of a base component of a polyol or ester having a molecular weight of at least about 3000 and about 2 to 20 parts by weight of colloidal particles such as silica. Optionally, an antioxidant component can be added to impart high temperature resistance or a rubber component can be added to improve bleed resistance. Also, an article of manufacture of a cable having a sheath with one of the grease compositions of the invention located therein, and a method for filling the cable with such grease compositions.
Abstract:
The presently disclosed technology relates to a nano-additives to improve the performance of lubricants, oils, and greases. More specifically, the presently disclosed technology relates to applying capped metal oxide nanoparticles, such as capped zirconia nanoparticles, in the lubricants to produce a tribofilms on the lubricating surfaces to provide wear protection to the said surfaces. Also, the interaction of the capped zirconia nanoparticles with other commonly used additives in lubricants may further optimize the performance of the resulting tribofilms.

Additive for fuels and lubricants containing spherical layered structure onion-like particles, containing solvent and dispersed therein carbon nanosized spherical clusters CNOs to the extent from 1 to 500 nm; these clusters consist of laminated partially closed cockleshell-like form graphene layers with substituents; and the additive for fuels and lubricants has the following ratio of components, wt. %: * - carbon nanosized spherical clusters - 10- 6 - 10- 1 ; • - solvent - rest. Additive for fuels and lubricants is used in the capacity of antifriction, antiscoring and anti-oxidant components in the production of petroleum, bioethanol, biodiesel fuels, oils, greases and technical fluids with anticorrosive and antifrictional properties.

본 발명은 소수성으로 표면개질된 나노다이아몬드가 특정 분산제와 함께 사용됨으로써 오일 내에서 안정적으로 장기간 동안 분산될 수 있는 엔진오일 첨가제 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따르면, 나노 다이아몬드가 엔진오일 내에서 장기간 동안 안정적으로 분산됨으로써 엔진 등 기계의 마찰 및 마모를 감소시켜, 연비가 개선되는 효과를 얻을 수 있다.

The invention concerns a process for producing a dry film with a high galling resistance on a threaded element for drilling and/or operating a hydrocarbon well, characterized in that it comprises at least the following steps: ⋅ forming a stable dispersion comprising a polyamide-imide powder, a polar aprotic solvent with a boiling point of more than 180°C at 760 mm Hg, and water; ⋅ applying the dispersion to one of the ends (1, 2) of said threaded element at a temperature in the range 20°C to 40°C; ⋅ drying the coated end.

Magnetorheological devices, including damping devices, rotary devices, and haptic systems constructed with said devices are disclosed. The devices contain dry magnetically-responsive particles, or MR fluids containing the magnetically responsive particles. The magnetically soft particles characterized by a single process yield population of atomized particles having a cumulative 10 %, 50 % and 90 % by volume, fraction within specified size, i.e., D10 of from 2 up to and including a D10 of 5 µm, a D50 8 µm up to and including a D50 of 15 µm, a D90 of 25 µm up to and including a D90 of 40 µm, and characterized by a least squares regression of log normal particles size against cumulative volume % fraction of greater than or equal to 0.77.

Disclosed is a composition for use in metal working that contains 1) a soap, 2) a non-volatile ester, and 3) a particulate component. These main components of the composition according to the present invention are in an aqueous base. The composition lubricates the metal and allows metal to be processed cold without the formation of flakes and metal fatigue.

An aqueous cutting fluid comprising a cationic water-soluble resin having an amino value of 20 to 200 mg KOH/g and at least one viscosity modifier selected from among inorganic and organic bentonites and aqueous silica sols, wherein the content of nonvolatiles in the viscosity modifier is 0.1 to 30 wt.% based on the nonvolatiles in the resin; an aqueous cutting agent prepared by incorporating abrasive grains into the fluid in an amount of 100 to 1000 wt.% based on the nonvolatiles of the fluid, which is excellent in the dispersion stability of abrasive grains and viscosity stability and effective particularly for wire saws; and a process for cutting hard brittle materials by the use of a cutting tool and the cutting agent, which permits high-accuracy processing of the hard brittle materials and excellent cleaning thereof.

A tyre gel balancing composition having a storage modulus of between 3000 and 15000 Pa and the specific gravity less than 1000 kg/m in the temperature range between -20 and +90 DEG C, preferably its storage modulus is about 9000 Pa, is capable of balancing tyres by being able to flow under the vibrations caused by imbalance in a wheel assembly. The composition preferably comprises a mixture of: 1) paraffinic oils, polybutene oils, polyolesters or polyol ethers; 2) hydrophobic or hydrophilic fumed silica; 3) polyalkyl-methacrylates, styrene-ethylene-propylene block copolymers or polyhydroxycarboxylic acid derivatives; and optionally corrosion inhibitors and antioxidants.
