PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic door closing system with a shock absorbing function enabling smoother door opening operation and its closing operation, and a hinge used for it. SOLUTION: In the hinge 1, a piston 7 is housed in a cylinder 4 provided at one of a pair of vanes 2, 3, the nearly lower part of an operation rod 8 of which the nearly upper part is fixed to the other vane 3 is arranged within the cylinder 4, balls 74, 75 protruding from the inner circumference of the piston 7 and arranged to roll at fixed positions of the piston 7 are engaged with a cam groove 9 having a gradient 91 formed at the outer circumference of the nearly lower part of the operation rod 8, the piston 7 advances and retreats in response to the movements of balls 74, 75 relative to the gradient 91 of the cam groove 9, and when the door is closed, shocks are absorbed by an air cushion function in the cylinder 4 caused by the return action of the piston 7. A threaded drum is rotated by a drive shaft. As the threaded drum rotates, part of a cable is wrapped around the drum, while at the same time, a second part of the cable is unwrapped from the drum. Rotation of the drive shaft is based on rotation of an operator.

A hinge assembly is provided comprising a toggle type hinge (10) with a linear damping device (13) arranged with its longitudinal axis parallel to the axis of movement of the hinge. First and second actuating devices (19, 30) are provided for operating the damping device. Means (20, 32, 55) are provided for activating the first and second actuating devices in response to movement of the hinge.

In an aspect, a swing door actuation system is provided for moving a door about a vertical axis between open closed positions relative to a vehicle body. The system includes a housing connectable to one of the swing door and the vehicle body, an extensible member that moves relative to the housing, and connects to the other of the swing door and the vehicle body, a motor connected to a gear train that is non- backdrivable, and a normally engaged clutch. The motor is operatively connected to a clutch input end through the gear train. The output end is operatively connected to the extensible member. The clutch is disengageable to disconnect the motor from the extensible member. The clutch has a slip torque that is sufficiently high to prevent movement of the door when the door is exposed to less than a selected external torque and the motor is stopped.

Hinge assembly (1) for household appliances (2) having an horizontally-pivoted front door (4), and which comprises: a first coupling element (6) structured for being firmly fixed to the household appliance casing (3); a second coupling element (7) structured for being firmly fixed to the front-door body (4), and which is pivotally jointed to the first coupling element (6) so as to be able to rotate about a given articulation axis (R), between a first working position wherein the front door (4) is arranged in the raised position, and a second working position wherein the front door (4) is arranged in the completely lowered position; and a door-weight balancing device (9) which is interposed between the first (6) and the second coupling element (7) and is structured to elastically hamper rotation of the second coupling element (7) at least from the first to the second working position; the door-weight balancing device (9) in turn comprising a supporting rod (10) which extends in sliding manner through a supporting portion (11) of the first coupling element (6); a compression-preloaded elastically-deformable member (12) which is fitted to the supporting rod (10) so as to have a first end (12a) firmly fixed to the distal end (10a) of the supporting rod (10) and a second end (12b) in abutment against the supporting portion (11) of the first coupling element (6); a linking mechanism (13) which connects the proximal end (10b) of the supporting rod (10) to the second coupling element (7), so that the supporting rod (10) is axially moved to further compress the elastically-deformable member (12) when the second coupling element (7) rotates from the first to the second working position; and finally an adjustable spacer element (14) which is interposed between the second end (12b) of the elastically-deformable member (12) and the supporting portion (11) of the first coupling element (6), and it is structured so to allow a manually-operated adjustment, between a lower value and a higher value, of the distance (h) between the second end (12b) of the elastically-deformable member (12) and the supporting portion (11) of the first coupling element (6), thus varying the compression preload of the elastically-deformable member (12) fitted on the supporting rod (10).

Ein Dämpfereinsätz für Dämpfungseinrichtungen an Möbeln weist einen fluidgefüllten Dämpferzylinder (18) auf, in dem ein Dämpferkolben längsbeweglich geführt ist. Über eine Kolbenstange (13) ist der Dämpferkolben mit einer Stellschraube (14) verbunden. Der Dämpferzylinder (9) ist in einer Führungshülse (8) längsbeweglich und drehbar geführt. Die Stellschraube (14) steht mit einem Innengewinde (16) der Führungshülse (8) in Eingriff. Die Stellschraube (14) ist mit dem Dämpferzylinder (9) drehfest und längsverschiebbar verbunden. Die Stellschraube (14) ist koaxial mit einer Drehhülse (17) verbunden, in der ein inneres Ende (18) des Dämpferzylinders (9) längsverschieblich aufgenommen ist. Der Dämpferzylinder (9) steht mit der Drehhülse (17) in drehfester Verbindung.

Dämpfvorrichtung (9) zur Dämpfung einer Öffnungs- und/oder Schließbewegung eines Möbelbeschlages (3), wobei die Dämpfvorrichtung (9) einen Rückstellmechanismus (12) aufweist, durch den ein Betätigungselement (7) der Dämpfvorrichtung (9) nach erfolgter Dämpfung in eine Ausgangsposition für den nächsten Dämpfungshub bewegbar ist, wobei die Lage der Ausgangsposition des Betätigungselementes (7) relativ zur Dämpfvorrichtung (9) durch eine Verstelleinrichtung (8) einstellbar ist. Das Betätigungselement (7) der Dämpfvorrichtung (9) ist drehbar gelagert, wobei durch die Verstelleinrichtung (8) der Rückstellhub des Betätigungselementes (7) relativ zur Dämpfvorrichtung (9) einstellbar begrenzbar ist.

A furniture hinge with equipment comprises a toggle-type hinge (H) and a shock absorber (B) . The latter is either a rotary (a first approach) or a line (a second approach) shock absorber. Irrespective of the approach, said shock absorber (B) is arranged transversely to a major longitudinal axis of the toggle-type hinge (H) and bound to a hinge pot. Thus, the invention concerns a particular use of a rotary shock absorber, the incorporation of a line shock absorber into a toggle-type furniture hinge, and the combination of said toggle-type hinge and said rotary and line shock absorbers, respectively, said combination concerning the above two objects.
