Abstract:
An automated chest compression device for performing CPR, with distance sensors disposed on a compressing mechanism and on a structure fixed relative to the CPR patient, for determining inferior/superior movement of the compressing mechanism over the course of multiple compressions.
Abstract:
A walking assistance (18) moving vehicle includes a walking assistance moving vehicle main body with wheels (13,14), a distance sensor (15), an inclination sensor (17), and a controller (24). The distance sensor (15) senses distance between the walking assistance moving vehicle main body and an object ahead of the walking assistance moving vehicle main body. The inclination sensor (17) senses inclination of the walking assistance moving vehicle main body. The controller (24) distinguishes between a first state in which the walking assistance moving vehicle moves on a sloped ground and a second state in which at least one of the wheels is off a ground based on the distance sensed by the distance sensor and the inclination sensed by the inclination sensor. The controller further controls the walking assistance (18) moving vehicle main body according to a result of distinguishing between the first state and the second state.
Abstract:
The present application relates to a hand-held navigation aid and method that assists the visually impaired individuals to navigate and perform routine activities independently. The method enables visually impaired individuals to identify the hindrances using navigation means. The method assists visually impaired individual to navigate in all types of environment, outdoor with or without GPS facility and indoor with or without GPS facility by means of the hand-held navigation aid,
Abstract:
The disclosure describes a device (100) for improving visual performance, having a first display element (1) for displaying at least one moving grid (110) consisting of grid elements (120); at least one portable closure element (2) for occluding at least one eye; a portable eye tracking device (3) for measuring at least one characteristic value of a non-occluded eye; a first control unit (5) having a first communication interface (140) for communication with the eye tracking device (3) and a second communication interface (150) for communication with the at least one closure element (2); and a second control unit (6) connected to the display element (1), having a third communication interface (160) for communication with the first control unit (5). The second control unit (6) is designed to control a display of the moving grids (110) for a non-occluded eye by means of the first display element (1) on the basis of the characteristic values measured by the eye tracking unit (3), wherein the display for a non-occluded eye on the first display element (1) is controlled display additional attention-capturing stimuli (130).
Abstract:
A patient support for supporting a patient includes an inflatable mattress defining a support surface and a pneumatic system for inflating the inflatable mattress. The pneumatic system includes a pressurized reservoir for holding pressurized air and selectively releases pressurized air from the reservoir to the mattress.
Abstract:
An apparatus for displaying acupuncture points according to the present invention recognizes a curved surface of a human body via 3D scanning, and then sets acupuncture points corresponding to the body surface that has been recognized to project them onto the body. More specifically, the apparatus for displaying acupuncture points comprises: a 3D scanner for performing 3D scanning; a control unit for setting acupuncture points by using the data that has been scanned by the 3D scanner; and a projection unit for projecting the acupuncture points that have been set by the control unit onto the body. Accordingly, the present invention allows accurate selection of acupuncture points on a highly curved surface of a human body.

Abstract:
A method of rehabilitation using an actuator type that includes a movement mechanism capable of applying a force that interacts with a motion of a patient's limb in a volume of at least 30 cm in diameter, in at least three degrees of freedom of motion of the actuator and capable of preventing substantial motion in any point in any direction in said volume, comprising: exercising a patient at a first place of rehabilitation selected from a bed, a wheel-chair, a clinic and a home, using an actuator of said actuator type which interacts with a motion of said patient; and second exercising said patient at a second place of rehabilitation selected from a bed, a wheel-chair, a clinic and a home using a second actuator of said actuator type which interacts with a motion of said patient; wherein said first exercising and said second exercising utilize a same movement mechanism design for moving the actuators.
