At least one of the plurality of protrusions engages the inner surface to prevent rotation of the nut plate relative to the housing.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method are provided for a high capacity oil filter configured to remove contaminants from engine oil flowing within an internal combustion engine. The oil filter comprises a hollow canister having a length and a diameter suitable for housing a large filtration medium. A base gasket forms a fluid-tight seal between the oil filter and the engine. A base plate circulates oil from the engine through the oil filter. An anti-drainback valve prevents oil from draining out of the filter and passages within the engine when the engine is not operating. A key aspect of the present disclosure is that the relatively large dimensions and the configuration of the filtration media provide a large surface area for entrapping contaminants flowing with the engine oil.

Also, air cleaner assemblies having advantageous features therein are provided. Further, air cleaner housings are described, with selected, preferred features for engagement with filter cartridges.

Abstract: A filter arrangement for threadably securing to a filter head includes a housing having a surrounding wall defining an interior volume, an open mouth providing access to the interior volume and an end opposite of the open mouth. The surrounding wall has an exterior and an interior. A filter media construction is operably held within the interior volume. A sleeve, distinct from the housing, is secured to the exterior of the surrounding wall adjacent to the housing mouth and extending partially along the surrounding wall. The sleeve has an exterior and an interior. The exterior of the sleeve defines mounting threads constructed and arranged to removably mount with the filter head, when the filter arrangement is secured to the filter head. The interior of the sleeve is against the exterior of the surrounding wall. A first seal member is oriented against the sleeve to create a seal with a filter head, when the filter arrangement is secured to the filter head. A filter assembly includes a filter arrangement and a filter head. The filter arrangement is removably secured to the filter head by a threaded connection between the sleeve and the filter head. A system includes an engine utilizing a liquid and a filter assembly in fluid communication with the engine to filter the liquid. Methods of making filter arrangements include utilizing structures characterized above.

Abstract: A filter element for filtering a fluid is provided with a housing and a filter body arranged in the housing. A cover closes off one end of the housing. An inlet is arranged on the cover at a raw side of the filter element for inflow of a fluid into the filter element. An outlet is arranged on the cover at a clean side of the filter element for discharge of the fluid from the filter element. The cover has a connecting area connecting the filter element with a counter element of a filter system. The cover has a sealing area that seals between the filter element and a receptacle of the filter system. A seal is disposed in the sealing area and has two separate sealing surfaces that effect a sealing action in the connecting area in axial direction and in radial direction of the filter element.

Abstract: A strainer gasket assembly system and method is disclosed.
