Abstract:
A door or window operator comprises a motor-driven double-chain operator with two chain members (21, 22) which in a substantially closed operator housing are both separately in engagement with a rotating drive member (11, 12) and may be joined in a back-to-back arrangement for the provision of a rigid operator member. The chain members (21, 22) are composed of chain links (18) having hinge parts (19, 20) with parallel rotational axes (25, 26) oriented transversely to the direction of propagation of the chain member for engagement with neighbouring chain links in the same chain member and having a back surface (27) provided with zip-like engagement members (32) for engaging corresponding engagement members on the back surfaces of adjacent chain links (18) in the other chain member for securing the chain members in the joined operator member against displacement transversely to the opening/closing direction. The hinge parts (19, 20) of the chain links (18) are designed such that during the propagation of the chain members (18) in the operator housing a mutual displacement is allowed between neighbouring chain links (18) in the chain members (21, 22) in the direction of the rotational axes (25, 26) and the separate chain paths (3, 6) extend only in a part (2) of the housing in a plane (9) common with the outlet openings (5, 7).
Abstract:
Disclosed is an actuating device for a hinged window (2) in the door (1) of a motor vehicle. The actuating device comprises a manually driven or motor driven remote-controlled actuator (4). The flexible remote-controlled actuator (4) is hinged directly onto the hinged window (2).
Abstract:
A multi-link connector which is particularly suitable for use with a window operator. The multi-link connector includes a plurality of links (12) joined together by a joining arrangement (11). The links (12) include a base (13) and a pair of oppositely disposed walls (14) so that the links (12) form a generally channel shaped elongate length. The joining arrangement (11) provides a plurality of drive elements (11a) which extend transversely between the walls (14) and are accessible through a gap (16) formed between the walls.
Abstract:
A push-pull chain garage door operator system includes a drive module (20) and an elongated guide rail (22) for a push-pull chain (101) connected to a carriage assembly (28) mounted on the guide rail. The chain is engaged with a sprocket (138) mounted on a generally rectangular plate-like molded plastic support member (30) which includes a serpentine idle chain storage slot (100) formed therein. The support member is releasably connected to a stamped metal frame plate (34) for covering the storage slot and supporting the drive module. The bottom wall of the support member supports a right angle speed reduction drive unit (50) connected to a drive motor (46) retained in a cradle (54) formed by an integral boss (56) on the support member. The motor and a starting capacitor therefor are retained in respective cradle portions of the boss by a removable retaining strap (58). A control circuit board (64) is mounted on the underside of the support member and a two-part shroud (66, 82) for the operator mechanism is releasably secured to the frame plate.
Abstract:
The openable window sash is in the closed position secured to the frame by locking means on the sash engaging lock fittings on the frame. After release of the locking means from the lock fittings my means of an operating device the sash is moved to an open position by at least one window operator (14, 15) positioned at a frame member. The sash is moved to a ventilating position by the operating device which has a motor (3) which via a driving member (4) moves a locking rod (7) which is longitudinally displaceable in a sash member (2), said locking rod being also in engagement with a relative to the longitudinal frame member inclined section (10) of a track (9) in the lock fitting (8) of the frame. By longitudinal displacement of the locking rod the sash is moved in a direction away from the frame, the sash being, until the ventilating position has been reached, secured to the frame by the engagement between the locking rod and the track of the lock fitting.
Abstract:
A drive for a tracked door which utilises a drive pinion (10), which engages a tracked rack (16) that in turn moves the door as it is moved track-wise under the action of the pinion. A flexible rack (16) able to travel on a curved locus is preferred.
Abstract:
A mechanism for angularly moving a panel or closure element such as a window. The mechanism includes a housing (10) which incorporates a guide (19) in which is slidingly located an elongate multi-link connector (11). One end (17) of the connector (11) is extendable from the housing (10) and is able to be coupled to the panel or closure element by a coupling (12). A handle (13) mounted with the cover (15) of the housing (10) can be rotated to move the connector (11) relative to the guide (19). The connector (11) is formed from a plurality of links (16) maintained in an interengaging relationship by an elongate flexible joining element (30) extending therethrough. The connector includes a plurality of drive dogs (35) for engagement with a toothed gear coupled to the handle (13) so that drive from the handle (13) can be imparted to the connector (11).
