Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restorate to an initial radiation rate by applying a higher voltage than a rated operating voltage difference for a longer period than a rated address period during operation between a grid and a cathode and emitting a microchip at a higher current density than a rated operating current density. SOLUTION: In a reproducing cycle, a bias of a line L of a grid 3 is specified for a higher reproducing potential than a rated line addressing potential. While the line L is at the reproducing potential, a cathode 1 is biased by addressing all columns K simultaneously at the maximum illuminance corresponding potential during screen operation. A biasing potential of the grid 3 is increased, and a current increase in each microchip 2 is made possible. While a screen is damaged during reproducing, a bias is applied to the grid 3 at the reproducing potential by using a pulse signal to avoid heating of a phosphor element. The pulse width is longer than the rated period of the bias of the line L of the grid 3, and two continuous pulse intervals are selected so that time for screen cooling remains before new pulse generation.

The filtering grids, have transmitting nature with respect to electron bombardment and are biased so that parasitic ions produced at their one side, are inhibited from reaching the cathode or anode disposed at the other side.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the generation of a moire phenomenon on a screen by having a transparent surface of a fixed ratio for a basic pattern along an axis parallel to the overall direction of cathodes, regardless of the position of this axis in the right-angled direction. SOLUTION: A basic pattern is formed of picture elements 25 in this case. The transparency of the picture elements 25 is constant from the end to end of the picture elements 25 in the direction of grid lines 17 by the pattern of cathode conductors 13 and the grid lines 17. That is, each picture element 25 includes an opaque surface of the same ratio along an axis parallel to the overall aligned direction of the cathode conductors 13, regradless of the position of this axis in the right-angled direction (that is, in the direction of the grid lines 17). A grid 3 includes linear sections 23, but these linear sections 23 are right-angled to anode strips so as not to be a hindrance to moire effect. A more phenomenon is therefore invisible from an observer regardless of the position of the observer to the cathode surface.

The grid conductor 31 and the silicon oxide layer 32 are opened at a position of a microchip 2. Pads 20 are formed on the silicon oxide layer 32 of the insulating space 33 and the insulating space 34, and a group of four pads 20 includes two pads arranged between two cathode conductors 30, which are aligned in a line between two grid conductors 31, and other two pads.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display screen, which can withstand high voltage between electrodes, by providing a cathode engaged with an electron extracting grid, an anode having two type fluorescent elements, which are polarized at the same electrical potential, and at least two additional overlapped grids, and providing each grid with a hole having a diameter smaller than that of a coaxial hole of other additional grid. SOLUTION: An intersection of a line of extracting grids 3, which has holes 4 corresponding to a cathode 1 and a microchip 2, and a line of the cathode 1 regulate a picture element. Each picture element is divided into three auxiliary picture elements Pr, Pg, Pb, which are regulated by three coaxial holes provided by additional grids 15, 16, 17, and the divided auxiliary picture elements face to corresponding fluorescent elements 7r, 7g, 7b on a common electrode 9. The additional grids 15, 16, 17 include coaxial holes 19, 20, 21 for activating or restricting the corresponding auxiliary picture elements. These coaxial holes 19, 20, 21 has a diameter smaller than that of the coaxial holes 22, 24 and 20, 24 and 20, 22 of other grids.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate any spark taking place on a screen peripheral edge by surrounding an active range by means of one track for collecting the re- discharged secondary electrons and separating the active range from the peripheral edge of the active range by means of an interval within the insulating material of the track. SOLUTION: An insulation interval 22 must be made sufficiently large for avoiding any electric arc taking place between an active range 20 and a collective link 21. However, the interval 22 is made as narrow as possible so as to avoid any expansion of a positive electric load range within this interval. The width of the interval 22 is made smaller than the average distance liable to be progressed by those secondary electrons discharged from the surface of this interval, with provision of allowance by a bias voltage. Thereby, the entire secondary electrons re-discharged from the insulating material 22 are collected by material 21. Accordingly, such a phenomenon as propagation of the secondary electrons to a sealed joint between an anode and a cathode. Furthermore, by having the ring 21 biased, the corresponding electric load can be eliminated.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten switching time and easily provide a switch part by merely switching a cathode and a potential of a first grid and of a second grid and setting all the potentials to a value lower than the potential of the anode. SOLUTION: An assembly is provided on a glass plate shaped insulation substrate 1. A microchip 2 is formed on plural arrays of cathode conductors K1, K2, K3. Grid conductors L1, L2, L3... are formed on an insulation layer 12 covering the cathode conductors. Ends of plural microchips substantially appear on a horizontal face of an upper opening part of the grid. An anode is opposed to each cathode array K, and three bands R, G, and B of luminescence material extending to plural arrays are arrayed. Consequently, these bands are brought for the same anode potential so as to operate a screen instead of being interconnected by the red, green, and blue bands. All the bands is formed on a same conductor layer 6 on a substrate 7.

Including a minimum of two grids at the parallel planes, a minimum of one of a 1st grid is slide-assembled parallel with a 2nd grid. Including a minimum of two external grids attached to parallel planes in order to specify the distribution of a spacer, a minimum of one of the grid is locked after indexing the position, and assembled by sliding between the two external grids.
