Le dispositif selon l'invention comporte une broche de vissage (1) montée sur un châssis pour se déplacer selon un mouvement de translation alterné par rapport au châssis et pour tourner autour d'un axe de rotation, l'entraînement est assuré par un pignon d'entraînement (26) et le dispositif est caractérisé par un pignon intermédiaire (24) monté sur un axe (31) porté par un support mobile (33) rappelé vers une position de repos par des moyens de rappel (39). Le dispositif comporte également des moyens de détection (45) des déplacements du support mobile (33). Lorsque le couple de serrage désiré est atteint, la biellette (33) s'écarte de sa position de repos et les moyens de détection (45) provoquent l'ouverture des mâchoires de la broche.
