Abstract: PURPOSE: A processing method of glycyrrhizae radix having the increased content of liquiritigenin is provided to secure an optimal analysis condition for the liquiritigenin from a glycyrrhizae radix extract. CONSTITUTION: A processing method of glycyrrhizae radix having the increased content of liquiritigenin comprises the following steps: processing the glycyrrhizae radix by heating at 150-400 deg C for 1-20 minutes, by acidifying using a weak acid and alcohol mixed solution, or by combining both processes regardless of the order; extracting the glycyrrhizae radix at 0-100 deg C for 1-10 hours using a maceration extraction method, a hot water extraction method, an ultrasonic extraction method, a reflux cooling extraction method, or a heating extraction method for 1-7 times; and filtering and decompress-concentrating the extract to obtain a glycyrrhizae radix extract.
