Abstract:
PURPOSE: A microsatellite marker and a method for identifying dog individual using the same are provided to perform multiplex PCR and to perform parental testing. CONSTITUTION: A microsatellite marker which is able to distinguish dog individual is a combination of one or more sets among: a first set having FH3005, FH2537, FH3921, FH3381, FH3116, FH3372, REN62M06, REN277O05, REN51C16, FH3399, and FH3027; a second set having FH2097, REN204K13, FH1014, FH3058, FH2834, FH2712, REN112C08, FH2998, FH2584, and REN197E16; and a third set having FH2054, REN181K04, FH2079, REN01O23, FH2582, and FH2790. A method for identifying dog individual comprises: a step of performing multiple PCR using microsatellite marker; and a step of detecting allele through electrophoresis and determining genotype.

PURPOSE: A method for selecting pigs with excellent meat color is provided to obtain information of meat color without killing pigs. CONSTITUTION: A method for selecting pigs with excellent meat color comprises: a step of isolating nucleic acid molecules from pigs; a step of detecting 61th nucleotide of a polynucleotide of sequence numbers 1-6 from the nucleic acid molecules and complementary polynucleotide thereof; and a step of selecting pigs with excellent meat color. A DNA chip contains a polynucleotide with 10-120 serial bases having the 61th nucleotide.

PURPOSE: A biomarker for diagnosing pork back fat thickness is provided to accurately measure genetic ability and to grow excellent breeding pigs. CONSTITUTION: An SNP biomarker for determining pork back fat thickness contains one or more among sequences of sequence numbers 1-40. A method for selecting the SNP biomarker comprises: a step of determining SNPs relating to the pork back fat thickness; a step of testing correlation with QTL(quantitative trait loci); and a step of analyzing the characteristic of pork based on the result. A diagnosis kit for determining breeding pigs contains the SNP biomarkers.

DNA markers by using leptin receptor gene are provided to determine economic traits of pigs including back fat, fat content and lean percentage, improve selection efficiency of seed pigs and genetic ability of seed pigs selected, and manage meat quality of pigs. Molecular markers for estimating economic traits of animals employ genes associated with obesity including a promoter region of leptin receptor gene, wherein the molecular marker is single nucleotide polymorphism(SNPs) that is at least one mutation on a locus selected from -792, -303, -201, -687, -707 or -763 from a initiation starting base. A method for selecting a seed animal comprises the steps of: (1) determining SNPs on a certain locus of an obesity-related gene such as a promoter region of leptin receptor gene; and (2) analyzing the economic traits of animals based on the determination results. Further, the obesity-related gene is a promoter region of the leptin receptor gene.
