Abstract: A background screen display device of a mobile communication terminal and a method thereof are provided to display additional information corresponding to a telephone number on a background screen based on a calls and message history, thus the user can easily know the additional information visually equivalent to the telephone number. A communication unit(110) conducts calling and message transceiving processes in a mobile communication terminal(100). A storage(120) accumulates and stores call and message transceiving records so that the records can be equivalent to additional information for corresponding telephone numbers. An accumulated frequency priority determiner(130) determines accumulated frequency priority by comparing the accumulated frequency of the call and message transceiving records included in the additional information. A controller(140) configures additional information corresponding to the accumulated frequency priority as a map in order of a high determined accumulated frequency. A display(150) displays the additional information configured as the map, on a background screen together with the accumulated frequency priority.
