Abstract: A method and a system for a digital broadcasting service, and a portable terminal therefor are provided to offer a paid channel with an advertisement to a user, thereby reducing load at no cost to the user and improving program rating. A method for a digital broadcasting service comprises the following steps of: allowing a portable terminal to generate a request message for viewing an advertisement with a corresponding channel free and transmit the generated request message to a broadcasting provider server if a paid channel provided with the advertisement free is selected(S410,S450); allowing the broadcasting provider server to transmit an authority message including information capable of descrambling a scrambled stream to only a portable terminal having viewing authority, multiplex the selected paid channel and specific advertisement based on the information included into the request message, scramble the generated stream, and transmit the scrambled stream to the portable terminal(S460~S490); and allowing the portable terminal to receive the stream and the authority message, check scramble information included into the authority message, descramble the stream by using the scramble information, and reproduce the stream(S510,S520).
