    Abstract: PURPOSE: A bidirectional optical transmission/reception module including an optical transmitter and an optical receiver for performing optical communication via an optical transmission medium is provided to integrate easily optical transmission elements and optical reception elements and reduce the number of components by dividing optical signals into transmitting optical signals and received optical signals, respectively. CONSTITUTION: An optical fiber(140) is used as a transmission medium of transmitting optical signals and received optical signals. A plurality of semiconductor lasers and a plurality of photo diodes are integrated in a semiconductor substrate(130). A band pass filter(110) is used for reflecting the transmitting optical signals to one end of the optical fiber and transmitting the received optical signals from the optical fiber. A reflector(120) is used for reflecting the received optical signals to the photo diode.
