Abstract: PURPOSE: A refrigerator and a control method thereof are provided to perform an optimum maturing at a proper maturing time and temperature for meats and to store meat in a optimum condition at a proper storing temperature for the meats after the maturing. CONSTITUTION: A control method of a refrigerator is as follows. Temperature of a storage room is maintained at a maturing temperature. The temperature of the storage room is set at a cooling temperature which is lower than the maturing temperature so that the storage room is cooled. Meats are matured by repeating a process of maintaining the maturing temperature and a process of cooling the storage room at the cooling temperature. The temperature of the storage room is maintained for an hour at the maturing temperature which is set in advance(220). After one hour, the storage room is cooled at the cooling temperature lower than the maturing temperature for two hours which is set in advance(230).
