    Abstract: A short PN code generating device in a mobile communication network having a Nx CDMA communication system performing spreading at an Nx chip rate using a short PN code of chip length Nx2k and a 1x CDMA communication system performing spreading at a 1x chip rate using a short PN code of chip length 2k. A spreader including an adder(20) and a multiplier(21) adds the first and second channel signals and spreads the added signal. The controller(19) controls the power gain values of the first and second gain adjusters(17,18).
