    Abstract: A thermoplastic resin composition is provided to secure excellent fire retardancy and scratch resistance by using halloysite as an aluminum silicate inorganic filler. A scratch-resistant flame retardant thermoplastic resin composition comprises a base resin 100.0 parts by weight, a flame retardant 1-50 parts by weight, and halloysite 1-20 parts by weight of the chemical formula of Al2Si2O5(OH)4. The base resin is made of (A) polycarbonate-based resin 20-90 weight% and (B) methacrylate-based 10-80 weight%. The methacrylate-based resin (B) is a methylmethacrylate 50-100 weight%, and a monomer 0-50 weight% capable of being copolymerized with the methylmethacrylate. The halloysite has a diameter of 40-200 nanometer.

    Abstract: A scratch-resistant flame retardant thermoplastic resin composition is provided to improve the commercial availability of a methacrylate-based resin and a polycarbonate-based resin and to reduce an injection weld line. A scratch-resistant flame retardant thermoplastic resin composition comprises a base resin 100.0 parts by weight, a flame retardant 1-50 parts by weight and an aromatic vinyl resin 1-30 parts by weight containing rubber component 0-15 weight%. The base resin compises (A) a polycarbonate-based resin 40-90 parts by weight and (B) a methacrylate-based resin 10-60 parts by weight. The flame retardant is a phosphate-based flame retardant or halogen-based flame retardant.

    Abstract: A scratch-resistant thermoplastic resin composition is provided to ensure excellent fire retardancy, transparency and scratch resistance and to increase the fluidity. A scratch-resistant thermoplastic resin composition comprises a base resin 100.0 parts by weight, a phenol resin 1-20 parts by weight and a flame retardant 1-50 parts by weight. The base resin consists of (A) polycarbonate-based resin 20-80 parts by weight and (B) methacrylate-based resin 20-80 parts by weight. The methacrylate-based resin (B) is the copolymers of the monofunctional unsaturated monomer 0-50 weight% and methylmethacrylate 50-100 weight%. The phenol resin (C) is one or their mixture selected from the group consisting of a phenol novolac resin and a phenol epoxy novolac resin.

    Abstract: A phosphorus-based flame retardant copolymer, a method for preparing the copolymer, and a flame retardant thermoplastic composition containing the copolymer are provided to improve processability and flame retardancy and to prevent environmental pollution in case of processing or burning. A phosphorus-based flame retardant copolymer is prepared by polymerizing 100 parts by weight of a monomer comprising 60-100 wt% of an aromatic vinyl compound and 0-40 wt% of a cyanovinyl compound, and 0.01-30 parts by weight of a phosphorus-containing vinyl compound selected from the compounds represented by the formula 1 and 2 or their mixture. In the formula 1, R1 is H or a C1-C4 alkyl group; R2 and R3 are identical or different each other and are a C1-C4 alkyl group, a C6-C20 aryl group or a C6-C20 aryl group substituted with an alkyl group; n is 1-8; and m is 0 or 1. In the formula 2, R1, R2 and R3 are a phenyl group, a biphenyl group or an allylphenyl group; at least one of R1, R2 and R3 must contain a vinyl group; and n is 0 or 1.
