Abstract: A flame retardant copolymer, and a flame retardant thermoplastic resin composition are provided to improve flame retardancy, to prevent the deterioration of mechanical properties of the copolymer, and to enhance the balance of physical properties of the composition. A flame retardant copolymer comprises 5-98 wt% of a vinyl cyano monomer; 1-94 wt% of an aromatic vinyl monomer; and 1-30 wt% of a vinyl group-containing phosphorus-based monomer. Preferably the vinyl group-containing phosphorus-based monomer is represented by the formula 1, 2, 3 or 4, wherein R1 is H or a methyl group; R2 and R3 are independently a methyl group or an ethyl group; and n is 0 or 1. A flame retardant thermoplastic resin composition comprises 100 parts by weight of the flame retardant copolymer; and 0.001-50 30 parts by weight of an impact modifier.

Abstract: Provided are an ABS resin composition which is excellent in vacuum-molding property, is improved in elongation and is free from thermochromism, and a molded product prepared from the composition. The ABS resin composition comprises 20-40 parts by weight of a graft copolymer; 20-40 parts by weight of an SAN copolymer; 20-40 parts by weight of an SAN copolymer having an ultra-high molecular weight; and 1-15 parts by weight of a polypropylene having a high melt strength. Preferably the graft copolymer comprises 30-70 wt% of a butadiene-based rubber and 30-70 wt% of a mixture comprising a kind of an aromatic vinyl-based monomer and a kind of an unsaturated nitrile-based monomer. The SAN copolymer and the SAN copolymer having an ultra-high molecular weight contain 20-40 wt% of acrylonitrile.

Abstract: A phosphorus-based flame retardant copolymer, a method for preparing the copolymer, and a flame retardant thermoplastic composition containing the copolymer are provided to improve processability and flame retardancy and to prevent environmental pollution in case of processing or burning.
