Abstract:
Disclosed is a photomixer which basically solves a present lamination element in a photomixer and a PCA which is a core part of an existing broadband tera hertz spectroscopy. The photomixer includes an active layer which is formed on the upper surface of a substrate and formed in one region where light enters, and a thermal conductive layer which is formed on the upper surface of a substrate and is formed in the other region. The active layer has a mesa-type cross section. The thermal conductive layer has a flat surface by regrowing the other region with a MOCVD method.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the core technique of a wide area array type photonic crystal photomixer which generates a continuous frequency change type and a pulse type broadband terahertz wave. The present invention improves optical absorption by using the transmission characteristic of a 2D photonic crystal structure, thereby increasing the generation efficiency of a terahertz wave. Moreover, the present invention secures a wide area array type photonic crystal photomixer by properly and spatially arranging a photonic crystal structure with various cycles and by applying an interdigit structure. Therefore, the present invention reduces the high optical density of the optical absorption to solve the difficulty of a thermal property and optical arrangement and greatly improves low photoelectric transformation efficiency. In addition, the radiation pattern of a terahertz wave can be electrically controlled by the present technique.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a terahertz wave generating module and a terahertz wave detecting device including the same. The terahertz wave generating module according to the present invention comprises: a bidirectional light source which provides a first dual-mode beam in a first direction and a second dual-mode beam in a second direction; a forward lens unit which focuses the first dual-mode beam; a photomixer unit which converts the first dual-mode beam focused by the forward lens unit into a terahertz wave, and outputs the converted terahertz wave; a backward lens unit which focuses the second dual-mode beam; and a light output unit which uses the second dual-mode beam focused by the backward lens unit as a light signal, wherein the bidirectional light source, the forward lens unit, the photomixer unit, the backward lens unit, and the light output unit are integrated in a housing. The terahertz wave generating module and the terahertz wave detecting device including the same according to the present invention may have a small size and efficiently monitor generated terahertz waves.
