본 발명은 멀티미디어 메타데이터 관리 장치 및 방법에 관한 것으로, 홈 네트워크 내의 IP 방송 수신단말과 헤드앤드 서버와의 사이에서 멀티미디어 콘텐츠에 적합한 홈 네트워크 환경을 제공하기 위해 IGMP 메시지를 확장하여 선행 메타데이터를 담을 수 있도록 하며, 확장 IGMP 메시지에서 추출한 선행 메타데이터를 테이블에 저장하여 관리하는 상태에서 선행 메타데이터의 요청에 응답하여 미리 저장한 선행 메타데이터를 제공함으로써, 홈 네트워크 내에 있는 IP 방송 수신단말이 실시간 메타데이터를 처리할 때에 선행 메타데이터를 확보하기 위해 헤드앤드 서버나 랑데부 지점으로 요청해야 하는 유니캐스트 대역폭을 멀티캐스트 프로토콜에 사용되는 네트워크 자원을 이용하여 효율적으로 쓸 수 있으며, 선행 메타데이터를 받기 위해 거쳐가야 하는 네트워크의 길이가 줄어들기 때문에 전송 지연을 줄이는 이점이 있다. 실감나는 멀티미디어 콘텐츠, 선행 메타데이터, IGMP 메시지
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A metadata managing system using tags and a method thereof are provided to conveniently input metadata to contents by providing recommended metadata for the content inputted by a user. CONSTITUTION: A metadata generating module(300) generates a tag object by adding a property tag to a first tag inputted by a use. A metadata relation module(400) sets up the relation between the first tag and the second tag stored in the tag database based on the property tag. The metadata generation module includes a tag recommender(330) recommending a similar tag to a user.

A digital broadcasting system and a broadcasting service method thereof are provided to search broadcasting service information through a separate channel for all broadcasting channels of digital broadcasting retransmitted to an IP network. A broadcasting receiver(21) receives a real-time or stored broadcasting stream from a digital broadcasting receiving unit under IPTV environment. An image information processor(23) compresses image information of the broadcasting stream according to an IP network bandwidth, and sends the compressed information to a terminal by using an IP network channel. A broadcasting information processor(25) generates broadcasting service search information, and transmits the broadcasting service search information to the terminal through another IP network.
Abstract:
A conditional access system and a synchronizing method thereof are provided to minimize the disconnection phenomenon by providing a conditional access software of the next version to a terminal in advance a next version software while receiving a broadcasting signal in the synchronization of a terminal. A head end creates program designation information by which a conditional access software for a specific channel broadcasting can be downloaded, then is transmitted to a terminal(S510). A terminal judges whether or not the received program designation information is a program which requires the change of the version of the conditional access software(S520). If so, the terminal downloads the changed conditional access software according to the program designation information(S530). A broadcasting program is available on service by executing the conditional access software based on the point when the version of the software is changed(S540).

A system for providing the continuity of a communication service on a home network and a method therefor are provided to enable an SIP(Session Initiation Protocol) home server to register VoIP/video call terminals inside home as the same group and transmit a call request signal to all VoIP/video call terminals registered as the same group when a call connection is requested from the outside, thereby enabling a user to receive the communication service through a VoIP/video call terminal positioned closely wherever the user is inside the home. A method for providing the continuity of a communication service on a home network comprises the following steps of: registering VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol)/video call terminals inside home in the same group(S105); transmitting a call request message to the VoIP/video call terminals inside the home of the same group if a call request message is received from the outside(S120); communicating with a first VoIP/video call terminal which transmits a call connection response message if the call connection response message is received from one of the VoIP/video call terminals inside the home in response to the call request message(S150); receiving the location information of a first user which communicates with the first VoIP/video terminal while the call is connected to the first VoIP/video terminal(S260); waiting for the reception of the location information of the first user when a user location verification unavailable message instead of the first user location information is received; and switching the call connection through a second VoIP/video terminal installed at a location corresponding to second user location information if the second user location information different from the first user location information is received in the standby status.

A remote controller key value allocation method for individual services provided from a TV portal service is provided to generate profiles for remote controller key values by downloading a program of an individual service selected by a user while the remote key values for each service can be allocated by using the profiles, thus a high-capacity memory space is unnecessary for previously storing the profile information of remote controller key value. A set top box delivers service selection information selected by a user from a service list to a TV portal server(S101). The set top box downloads an application for receiving a service selected by the TV portal server(S102). The set top box generates remote controller key value profile(S103). The set top box interprets the key value profiles included in the application, and allocates the remote controller key value profiles to remote controller operation functions(S104). If study for remote controller key values is successful(S105), the set top box executes a service by performing short-range wireless communication with a remote controller based on the remote controller key value profiles and a service key-map used for the study(S106).

An SMMD(Single Media Multi Devices)-based ubiquitous home media service device and a method thereof, and a home medium service system and method using the same are provided to enable surrounding devices having various functions for providing a realistic media service to a user through ne-media by generating a ne-media, inputting realistic reproduction information fit for personal propensity of the user and context of the device to the ne-media, and transmitting the ne media to the devices. A database(300) stores sensor information, a device profile, a user profile, and the ne-media. A user interface(310) receives the ne-media by requesting the ne-media to an external ne-media providing server. A ne-media processing manager(320) separates the received ne-media into neo-data, the media comprising audio, video, and text, and sync/control and ID information of each device. An ne-media reproduction manager(330) plays the separated media. A device synch/control manager(340) generates a device group to be linked by collecting information of the surrounding devices, generates a synch signal between the media and the device by using the separated sync information, and records to synch signal to the ne-media. A network manager(350) transmits the ne-media received from the device synch/control manager to the surrounding devices.

A new service supply device in a home network environment and a method therefor are provided to receive a service package and profile information on a new service generated from an SP(Service Provider) or a remote home server through a download site, and to download/register the received package and information in a home server, thereby offering various types of home network services regardless of a type of the home server. A control management unit(24) comprises as follows. A profile manager(246) verifies new service profile information, and stores the verified information in a DB. A user manager(242) updates service right information on each user for a newly registered service in the DB based on determined service right policies of each user. A resource manager(243) manages sharing information of home server resources used for reproducing the registered new service, and allocates the resources. A service manager(245) determines the service right policies based on user profile information of the profile information of the new service, provides the determined policies to the user manager(242), and demands the resources necessary for reproducing the new service to perform registration processing for the new service.

A multicast system for supporting a router function by using an IPv6(Internet Protocol version 6) MLD(Multicast Listener Discovery) proxy in a home network and a method therefor are provided to offer an IPv6 multicast router function by using the MLD proxy, and to construct an IPv6 multicast home network environment, thereby supplying multilateral communication and multicast-based services. A proxy manager(122) generates group membership information of a multicast host(110), and performs multicast communication by using an MLD message through an interface established according to a multicast request of the host(110).
