Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for providing a contents service and a content providing sever device thereof are provided to convert the features and transmission rate of contents in a server in consideration of the performance and network bandwidth of each terminal. CONSTITUTION: A second server judges the conversion of selected contents of a first server(S20), and converts the selected contents according to connected-terminal information(S40). When converted contents is generated, the second server controls the transmission rate of the converted contents(S50). The second server receives network bandwidth information between the first terminal device and the second server(S60). If the transcoding and translating of the selected contents are completed, the second server transfers the converted contents to the first terminal device(S70).
