Abstract: PURPOSE: A navigation unit for vehicle is provided to guide correctly an U-turn position to a driver and prevent the driver's confusion during a driving process by improving a traveling path guide function of the navigation unit. CONSTITUTION: A navigation unit is installed at a predetermined position of a vehicle. The navigation unit includes a display portion(20). The display portion(20) displays a map(21), a present position, a moving direction, and a traveling distance of a vehicle. A voice guide portion(30) performs an operation for guide broadcasting before a vehicle passes an intersection. The guide broadcasting includes a guide message such as passes directly this intersection and perform an U-turn operation. A magnification(22) is displayed on a right side of the display portion(20).

Abstract: PURPOSE: A car navigation system is provided to guide correctly a vehicle on an intersection by providing the magnification of the intersection to a driver. CONSTITUTION: A car navigation system includes a database portion(10), a navigation control portion(20), a display portion(30), and a speaker portion(40). The database portion includes an intersection pattern database, a road shape model diagram image database, a progressive arrow image database, and a voice guide database. The navigation control portion grasps a pattern of the next intersection from a road network database and the magnification of a 3D intersection by using the road shape model diagram image database and the progressive arrow image database corresponding to the pattern of the next intersection. The display portion outputs the magnification of the 3D intersection according to a signal of the navigation control portion. A speaker portion receives a signal from the navigation system and performs a voice guide operation.
