    Abstract: PURPOSE: A piston slap testing method is provided to perform test in a convenient manner and reduce test time and cost, while obtaining a piston slap measured with accuracy. CONSTITUTION: A piston slap testing method comprises a first step(11) of measuring a clearance between a piston and a cylinder liner; a second step(12) of determining thickness of an insertion member to be inserted into the piston; a third step(13) of forming a lead-in groove at an outer periphery of the piston; a fourth step(14) of processing the insertion member to be inserted into the lead-in groove; a fifth step(15) of inserting the insertion member into the lead-in groove; and a sixth step(16) of assembling the piston and testing piston slap. The insertion member is made of a Teflon pad. The lead-in groove is formed into a depth obtain by subtracting clearance of the piston from the thickness of the insertion member.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A noise reduction apparatus of an RCC(Recycling compressor) turbocharger is provided to reduce noise by increasing flow rate of suction air flowing into a slit with modifying the shape and the installation position of a rib and the slit of a blower case. CONSTITUTION: An air inlet is composed of an outer cylinder(23) and an inner cylinder(24) by a rib(25), and a slit(26) is formed in the outer periphery of the inner cylinder to supply air between the inner cylinder and the outer cylinder to the side of a blower(14). The inside of the rib is eliminated, and the slit is rounded to reduce noise by increasing the flow rate of suction air. Noise in bumping air into the side of the blower is reduced with eliminating the outside of the rib. The slit is formed near a boundary between the outer cylinder and the inner cylinder to supply air from the slit to a small blower(14b) directly. Whine noise is reduced with modifying the shape and the position of the rib and the slit of the blower case.
